Tennessee Arts Commission event draws arts leaders
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan welcomed more than 200 arts administrators, educators and artists from across Tennessee to Clarksville for two days of learning and sharing.
The Tennessee Arts Commission is presenting the 2018 Tennessee Arts & Arts Education Conference, Design Thinking: A Pathway to Innovation in the Arts.

Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, AHDC Director Ellen Kanervo and Anne Pope, executive director of the Tennessee Arts Commission, gathered Wednesday to greet an arts conference reception audience at the Customs House Museum.

Clarksville, TN – Opening July 5th, 2018 in the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center’s Kimbrough Gallery, International Reflections is an exhibition representing five women artists who rarely see each other, but have bonded through their love of painting.
Coming together in the spirit of friendship and to support each other’s art careers, Women Artists Mentors (WAM) members meet once a month in a video chat online.

Clarksville, TN – Phase 1 of a major renovation of portions of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library will begin Monday, June 11th, 2018.
Using a public/private funding partnership, the library, which was last renovated 21 years ago, will take a big leap towards becoming the building that it needs to be to give the public a more updated, useful, attractive, inviting and comfortable experience.

APSU professors’ documentary “Clarksville 1937” wins at Nashville Film Festival

Clarksville, TN – A short documentary highlighting Clarksville in the 1930s took home one of the top honors at the 49th Annual Nashville Film Festival earlier this month. “Clarksville 1937,” directed by Austin Peay State University communication professors Karen Bullis and Kathy Lee Heuston, won the Tennessee First Grand Jury Prize for Documentary Short during the May event.

The theme to this 35th annual event is “Southern Soirée”, inspired by the beauty of Charleston and the low country of South Carolina.
