Kleeman Community Center honors military with Military Support Night and Military Family Fun Night

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Kleeman Community Center invites the public to join in celebrating our military. The Kleeman Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, begins its Military Support Night Tuesday, August 16th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.

Area soldiers can come enjoy refreshments and socialize with their peers on the first Tuesday of each month. No Center ID card is required to participate. [Read more]

New Providence Pool to reopen on Sunday

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has been temporarily closed due to a main water pipe rupture. Repairs have gone better than expected and the pool be will open back up tomorrow, Sunday, July 24th

New Providence Pool temporarily closed due to burst pipe

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will be temporarily closed this weekend after a main water pipe ruptured. The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department hopes to have the problem remedied by Monday evening. The pool should be back open to normal operating hours Tuesday, July 26th.

Aquatic Specialty Class Schedule to change temporarily at New Providence Pool

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Aqua Zumba class held at New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will have a time change Friday, June 24th. The class will be at 5:00pm rather than its regularly scheduled time of 6:00pm.

The Basic Water Aerobics class normally scheduled for 6:00pm on Friday will be cancelled for the day. Both classes will return to regular times next week.

Clarksville Parks & Recreation welcomes a new Director to the Kleeman Center

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department welcomes a new full-time member to its staff. Tonya Wacker is the new Director of the Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.

Wacker has been a part-time employee of Parks and Recreation for nine years. She began as a gym assistant with the Summer Youth Program at the St. Bethlehem location. She eventually moved on to the Site Director position at the Caldwell Lane and Barksdale locations. Wacker has since served as a part-time staff member at the Crow Center. [Read more]

Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence is closing for the season

Indoor Aquatic Center - New ProvidenceClarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, closed Tuesday, May 10th for the season. The New Providence outdoor swimming pool will open May 28th along with the other City pools. The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence will re-open at the end of the summer season.

Be on the look-out for the 2011-12 Indoor Aquatics Program guide at that time.
