Clarksville, TN – Carolyn Stier Ferrell is releasing her 6th book this month entitled, Riverview Cemetery: A History. There will be a booking signing for her on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 from 1:00pm until 4:00pm at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Library.
Of the cemetery, Ms. Ferrell stated, “Riverview has existed as a cemetery for as long as humans have trod its hillsides. The indigenous people used it long before the white settlers came into the area.”

Customs House Museum Presents the 5th Annual Laying Low

Clarksville, TN – Laying Low is back for its fifth installment to benefit the Customs House Museum on Saturday, October 3rd. This laid-back annual fundraiser begins at 5:00pm and will last into the evening.
Laying Low will be hosted by the downtown branch of F&M Bank, in the courtyard overlooking the Cumberland River.
Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival, the best yet

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s 2015 Riverfest Festival wrapped up Saturday, September 12th. It was cloudy, cool with a slight breeze. Fantastic weather for the event.
Everything kicked off at 10:00am with Riverfest Regatta and the Human Foosball Tournament. The cardboard boat race is one of the most unique and fun events at Riverfest.
Unlike other boat races, participants in the Regatta compete in boats made from cardboard, plastic bottles and other approved materials. Competitors raced 100 yards on the Cumberland River to the finish line. This year, only two boats sank.

Clarksville, TN – Truly one of the most unique, fun, events at Clarksville’s Riverfest is the Regatta boat race. Unlike other boat races, participants in the Regatta compete in boats made from cardboard, plastic bottles and other approved materials.
The race kicked off at 10:00am at the McGregor boat dock. Competitors raced 100 yards on the Cumberland River to the finish line.
Try Scuba Diving at Clarksville’s Riverfest

Clarksville, TN – If you have ever wondered what it would be like to scuba dive, then here is your chance. Waterdogs Scuba and Safety has partnered with the National Diving Education Association to bring the “Be A Diver” program to Clarksville’s Riverfest Celebration Saturday.
“The Be A Diver” program will let you try scuba diving under the direction of professional scuba instructors. You will learn how to use scuba gear in shallow water and experience what it’s like to breath underwater.

Early afternoon rain doesn’t dampen Friday nights Riverfest

Clarksville, TN – The rain Friday afternoon dissipated, the sun came out and dried off the banks of the Cumberland river. Rain delayed the start of Riverfest, but once it started, it was with a bang.
Those in attendance were welcomed by the sounds of different musical acts on three stages at McGregor Park. Besides the music, there were activities for the family, food, vendors and more.
Clarksville Riverfest announces Parking Information, Festival Rules and Lane Closures for Riverside Drive

Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival Friday, September 11th and Saturday, September 12th, 2015.
Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.
Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot.
