Riverfest announces Kip Moore as 2012 headliner

Clarksville, TN – Riverfest is excited to announce that the singer-songwriter Kip Moore will be the featured headliner at the 2012 Festival. Kip Moore will take the stage at 9:00pm as the main event on Saturday, September 8th, 2012. The concert is free and open to the public.
Kip Moore’s song “Somethin’ Bout a Truck” from his debut album, “Up All Night,” has claimed the No. 1 spot for the second consecutive week on the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, making him the first new country artist in four years to have a debut album’s first single go No. 1 for multiple weeks. It has been certified gold and sold more than 700,000 digital singles.

Clarksville Marina’s Next Phase is under way

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is announcing two new developments toward the opening of Clarksville’s Marina at Liberty Park.
“The developer, Cumberland River, LLC, began mobilizing the slips this week with the first shipment arriving today. As we’ve previously discussed, they are being assembled off-site and are then brought in for installation. The installation process is now underway. This is an important step as we move ever closer to being able to fully use the marina,” Mayor McMillan said. [Read more]

Clarksville’s Civil War Story Video Wins Award from Tennessee Association of Museums

Clarksville, TN – “Crossroads of Change, Clarksville, Tennessee 1861-1865,” a locally-produced video providing a perspective of the impact of the Civil War upon Clarksville and its inhabitants during the years 1861 to 1865, was honored with a 2012 Certificate of Commendation from the Tennessee Association of Museums (TAM) at its annual convention held recently in Memphis Tennessee.

Actor Keith McCoy portrays a member of the US Colored Troops in this scene from “Crossroads of Change, Clarksville, Tennessee 1861-1865.” The video was researched, written and filmed in Montgomery County and is based on local journals and diaries of the Civil War era.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Open House
