Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival continues Today

Clarksville, TN – The 2012 Riverfest Festival continues Saturday. The free festival held on the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park celebrates Clarksville’s river heritage.
Come out and join the City of Clarksville, Budweiser, and Agero as they celebrate the 25th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 7th and 8th, 2012. Riverfest kicks off this afternoon and continues Saturday

Clarksville, TN – The 2012 Riverfest Festival kicks off this afternoon. The free festival held on the banks of the Cumberland River at McGregor Park celebrates Clarksville’s river heritage.

Riverfest Regatta Deadline is September 5th

Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River Saturday morning, September 8th, will be made of cardboard, a few other approved materials and new this year, plastic bottles!
Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division. [Read more]
USS LST 325 to dock at McGregor Park for Tours September 26th-30th

Clarksville, TN – On September 26th-30th a key piece of military history will be on the banks of the Cumberland River in Clarksville, TN. Join us at McGregor Park as we welcome the LST-325. The LST crew will provide a rare glimpse into this floating monument as visitors are able to climb aboard and explore the ship.
Military enthusiasts, history buffs, and school groups will learn how it was instrumental in battles dating back to WWII.
Riverfest Regatta hits the water September 8th at the McGregor Park Boat Ramp

Plastic Bottle Division New this Year
Clarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, launches Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 10:00am at McGregor Park Boat Ramp.
This year marks the 6th year for the annual Riverfest Regatta, where participants build their own boats using materials from a specified list, and race them on the Cumberland River. The heats are timed with the fastest time being declared the winner in the respective classes. The course is 100 yards long.
Check in for participants starts at 9:00am.
Riverfest Regatta adds new plastic bottle division to race

Not only will teams be racing for bragging rights, but trophies will also be awarded to the first-, second- and third-place teams in each division.
Competition will be in five divisions: Adult Open, Business and Industry, Church/Civic, City Department and Military.

This FREE, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.
The music kicks off Friday night at 5:00pm with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include MIKESCHAIR who will perform at 9:00pm. Eliminator and Little Queen will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.

Lone Oak Picnic brings the local community together

Cunningham, TN – The Central Civitan Club held the 104th Annual Lone Oak Picnic, Saturday July 28th from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Central Civitan Building located on Alonzo Place. Cars were lining up down both sides of the street to pickup the good old fashion BBQ being served.
There was a large crowd throughout the day. At one time there were over 500 people socializing and enjoying some great food. Many were there to here the candidates in this years elections speak. At noon, 14 Federal, State and local candidates gave speeches to the attentive crowd.
