APSU Provost Lecture Series: Photography professor Susan Bryant to present October 3rd

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – An Austin Peay State University photography professor will present the next session of the Provost Lecture Series this week at APSU.

Susan Bryant, APSU professor of photography, will present at 3:00pm, Thursday, October 3rd, in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. She will discuss and provide a brief history of the of the 19th century photography method known as the wet plate collodion process.

APSU’s Bryant explores “presence and absence” at new photography exhibit

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – The image is hauntingly beautiful. Two old, weathered lawn chairs sit unused in a backyard. The black-and-white photograph speaks to the temporal nature of life, while also suggesting how photographer Susan Bryant, an Austin Peay State University professor of art, views the world.

“I’m drawn to subjects that are beautiful and that lend themselves to metaphor: the grace of a particular hand gesture, a lock of braided hair, a stack of suitcases,” she said.
