Apples for Education Campaign Brings in Supplies for Teachers and Students

Clarksville, TN – Two local banks and their branches participated in the Clarksville Montgomery County Education Foundation’s “Apples for Education,” a school supply drive and donation campaign to stock items for the teachers’ free supply store. The campaign began in late July and ended on Monday.
Legends Bank presented $400.00 and between 400 to 500 school supply items. Cumberland Bank & Trust donated $68.00 and around 100 items. [Read more]
Collin Raye to headline Riverfest 2011

Clarksville, TN – Join the City of Clarksville and Bud Light along the banks of the Cumberland River as they celebrate Clarksville’s river heritage at the 24th annual Riverfest Celebration, September 9th and 10th, 2011. This free, two day music and arts festival features four stages of a variety of local, regional and nationally-known entertainers, delicious food, and fun for the entire family.
The music kicks off at 5:00pm, Friday, with a great lineup of Christian performers on the Mary’s the Music Store Stage to include Britt Nicole who will perform at 9:00pm. Ekoh, Black Market Research and UZoo – The Authentic U2 Tribute Band Experience will take to the Bud Light Stage on Friday night, followed by the ultimate Journey tribute band, Chain Reaction.
Come down to McGregor Park Tonight and Celebrate Independence Day

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are joining together to celebrating our nation’s independence with the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration tonight down at McGregor Park. The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. It all starts 6:00pm.
Local performers Tina Brown and Chris Robertson will provide live music throughout the evening, followed by country music artist, John Anderson. With more than 40 singles on the Billboard country music charts, Anderson has five Number Ones: “Wild and Blue,” “Swingin’,” “Black Sheep,” and “Money in the Bank.” The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville.

Grasty joins staff at Cumberland Bank & Trust as loan officer

Cumberland Bank & Trust welcomes Brian Grasty to its staff. Brian will be joining the Dover Road branch as a loan officer. He has 8 years of banking experience and graduated with a B.S. degree in agriculture from APSU. Brian is very active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Clarksville area, a member of Gideons International, and a Mason at Lodge #303 of Indian Mound.

Winners of Queen City Road Race art contest announced

The City of Clarksville and Cumberland Bank & Trust have announced the winner of the 31st Annual Queen City Road Race Art Competition. The announcement and award presentations were made in an assembly at Kenwood Elementary School.
This year’s Queen City Road Race posters and t-shirts will feature the artwork of Jade Curtiss, a 3rd grader at Kenwood.
Miss Curtiss was presented a framed copy of this year’s poster featuring her art design by Cumberland Bank & Trust President Ron Sleigh during the assembly. Curtiss also received $100 in prize money, this year’s Queen City Road Race t-shirt and an entry form for the race. [Read more]
