Clarksville Transit System receives New Paratransit Vehicles

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Transit System (CTS) has received nine new paratransit vehicles. Funding was received for all nine vehicles through the Enhanced Mobility of Seniors and Individuals with Disabilities Grant Program. The total funding received was $367,311.
These vehicles will average 110 trips per day and began to service the community on December 7th.

Bus system aims to honor veterans, help voters reach polls
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Transit System will offer free bus rides to all passengers on Election Day, November 8th, and again on Veterans Day, November 11th.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan and Art Bing, Clarksville Transportation Director, announced on Thursday the plan for the free rides as a way to focus attention on voting and to honor military veterans.

Clarksville, TN – For Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan, the Spooky Special is a happy place.
Riding the custom-decorated bus on the Hilldale route Saturday, she sang “The Wheels on the Bus” with a toddler, cheerfully helped passengers in wheel chairs navigate the bus aisle, and greeted each Clarksville Transit System rider and employee with a big smile – all while sporting a really classy pirate costume.

City’s Independence Day Celebration takes place July 3rd

Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville will celebrate our nation’s independence this year with the ninth annual Independence Day Celebration on Sunday, July 3rd, 2016 at Liberty Park. The event is free and open to the public.
Activities and music will begin at 6:00pm Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Concessions are for sale throughout the park.
Road Closures announced for Clarksville’s Rivers and Spires Festival

Clarksville, TN – Road closures for this week have been announced for the 14th Annual Rivers & Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.
The Rivers & Spires Festival takes place April 14th-16th in downtown Clarksville. It is free and open to the public. The Festival features five stages of music and entertainment, arts and crafts, marketplace, food vendors and activities for all ages.
Clarksville Transit System will begin Service to Industrial Park Monday, April 4th

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan is excited to announce that the Clarksville Transit System will begin offering bus service to the Clarksville – Montgomery County Industrial Park beginning April 4th, 2016.
“People have been asking for this service for a long time,” explained Mayor McMillan, “But in order to provide the service, we had to have the Urbanized Area in our Metropolitan Transportation Plan extended.”

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan joined Director of Transportation Arthur Bing and members of the Clarksville Transit System (CTS) recently for a ribbon cutting officially opening CTS’s new fitness center.
“Our bus drivers rarely get a break during the day,” explained Mr. Bing. “They don’t get a lunch break and often grab something quick to eat between routes. As a result, they don’t always get to move enough or eat as healthy as they’d like. This fitness center is one way we can help by giving them a place to exercise after their routes. This will help many of our employees.”
CTS provides Free Rides on Christmas Eve

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will provide free transportation throughout the city on December 24th, 2015. This includes rides to the Annual Warm Souls Christmas event hosted by Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries.
“CTS is always looking for ways to make transportation a little easier and more accessible for people in Clarksville,” said Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan. “Offering free bus transportation on Christmas Eve is another way to do that and I appreciate their efforts.”
Live APSU Peay Pick Up location information now available on Peay Mobile 4.0 app

Clarksville, TN – Anyone with a smartphone or internet-connected device can now get real time information about Austin Peay State University’s Peay Pick Up trolley system through the University’s Peay Mobile 4.0 app.
Developed by APSU students, the new feature can show the trolley’s location around the University campus, with the position updated every 15 seconds. The feature is accessible in APSU’s new Peay Mobile 4.0 app, which was redesigned in June.
