Shogun Restaurant own donates $1,000 to the Clarksville Police Department’s Youth Coalition Program

Clarksville, TN – Deok Kwon Nam, owner of Shogun Restaurant, presented the Clarksville Police Department a personal donation in the amount of $1,000 for the Clarksville Police Department’s Youth Coalition.
The CPD Youth Coalition is a unique program which works with “at risk” juvenile offenders.

Police Academy Graduate Take Honors

Clarksville, TN – the Clarksville Police Department once again demonstrated the quality of officers they hire. Two officers, Adam Post and Jordan Parnell graduated from the Tennessee Law Enforcement class, March 16th, 2012.
Officer Jordan Parnell was recognized with multiple honors at the Academy Graduation. He was awarded the prestigious John R. Cunningham Award for Outstanding Officer for top overall score for academic and practical skills application and also received the award for Highest Academic Score.
Clarksville Police Department has Seven New Officers take Oath of Office

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department welcomed seven new officers to its ranks on March 1st, 2012. Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan administered the Oath of Office to the new officers in a ceremony at City Hall.
The newly hired officers will attend the Tennessee Law Enforcement Training Academy, March 18th-May 25th, 2012.

Clarksville Police Department seeks Applicants for Citizen Police Academy

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is taking applications for the next Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class which runs from March 20th – May 29th, 2012. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The CPA covers all facets of the Police Department’s activities from administration to tactical operations. Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about Police Department functions, but also afforded a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises. Fort Campbell Soldiers receive Clarksville Mayor’s Certificates

Clarksville, TN – Two Fort Campbell soldiers, Scott Puckett and Joseph Demille, received Mayor’s Certificates for taking action and assisting law enforcement in capturing burglars in December 2011.
On December 27th, 2011, a little after midnight Joseph Demille caught three teenagers breaking into vehicles in his neighborhood. He took decisive action and detained the men until Clarksville Police arrived.

Clarksville Police Officer Linda Caver Selected for the VFW’s National Law Enforcement Public Servant Citation

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Police Officer Linda Caver was honored by local VFW Post 11160 as the recipient of the 2011 VFW National Law Enforcement Public Servant Citation. Deanna McLaughlin nominated Officer Caver to the VFW Post for the award.
Officer Caver was recognized for her professionalism and accomplishments in combating the growing synthetic drug problem in the local community which hospitalized several teenagers due to the adverse effects of the synthetic drugs.
Clarksville Police Saturation Patrols Over the New Year’s Weekend

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is conducting city-wide impaired driving saturation patrols, partially funded by the Governor’s Highway Safety Office, December 30th and 31st, 10:00pm–4:00am.
The intention of the saturation patrols is to detect and apprehend impaired drivers through increased traffic enforcement.
Clarksville Liberty Park Boat Ramp Access Closed for Construction

Clarksville, TN – Beginning immediately, Liberty Park Boat Ramp will be closed to the public. For some time, the boat ramp at Liberty Park has been open for public use, while the rest of the park has remained closed for ongoing construction.
However, project Contractor TMS Construction is claiming traffic in the area has increased to the point that it is interfering with the project. [Read more]

I want to take this opportunity to recognize and salute the citizens of Clarksville & Montgomery County for their Random Acts of Kindness and caring spirit during this Christmas Season.

Three Clarksville Police Officers Receive Lifesaving Award

Clarksville, TN – On November 18th, 2011, Officers Jeff Danault, Mark Wilson, and Nathan Lee were presented with The Lifesaving Award at a ceremony held at Police Headquarters. The Lifesaving Award is given to officers whose actions saved or extended the life of another person.
The Lifesaving Award was presented to the officers for their actions on September 3rd, 2011 when they responded to a shots fired call at 801 Providence Boulevard and found a man that had been hit by gunfire. He was bleeding from both legs due to gunshot wounds; the left leg was bleeding severely.
