Clarksville Police Department is Awarded First Place

September 18, 2010

Clarksville Police DepartmentThe Clarksville Police Department received first place in The Tennessee Department of Transportation Governor’s Highway Safety Office’s 6th Annual Law Enforcement Challenge. September 10th. The Police Department was in the 201-500 Officer category.

“The Law Enforcement Challenge recognizes outstanding performances by law enforcement agencies and officers from across the state,” said Governor Phil Bredesen. “These dedicated public servants work diligently for the good of their communities and deserve this recognition both by the state and nationally.”

Student Traffic Awareness Training (STAT)

Clarksville Police DepartmentThe third Student Traffic Awareness Training class of 2010 was held on Saturday August 28th. This four hour class designed to teach teens the responsibility of driving a car and how to stay alive behind the wheel is free to all teens 15 – 18 years of age.

Kaye Jones, President of the Citizens Police Academy, talked to the class of 70 students about the driving course before they start the driving part of the class. During the driving part of the class each student drives a course twice on a golf cart. First time around the course the students drive the golf cart with DUI Goggles on.

Clarksville Police Department Youth Olympics

May 28, 2010

Clarksville Police Department’s 2nd Annual Youth Olympics Opening Ceremony will be June 5th at Northeast High School at 11:00 am. The Olympics” events will take place June 7th – 18th. It is open to all youth and young adults ages 11 – 17. The events will be: Cooking, Judo, Flag Football, Volleyball, Fishing, Bowling, Trivia, Archery, Basketball, Swimming, and Track.
