“My first instinct was how can I help, what can I do other than just sitting at home waiting for this to end?” Dyer said. “What can I do to help people?”

APSU nursing students support grieving families at Walk to Remember event

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Earlier this month, a group of Austin Peay State University (APSU) nursing students traveled south to Brentwood to spend a Saturday supporting grieving families during the annual Walk to Remember.

The solemn event is hosted by Sharing of Middle Tennessee, a nonprofit group of parents whose lives have been touched by the tragic death of a baby through pregnancy loss, stillbirth or in the first few months of life.

F&M Tops Montgomery and Stewart County Market Share Rankings Again

F&M BankClarksville, TN – During a 12-month period when Montgomery County’s total bank deposits jumped by $175.8 million, F&M Bank remained in the top position among FDIC-insured banks with a 19.01% market share.  It is the 14th consecutive year that F&M has maintained its market-leading ranking.

The fact that seven of the 11 Montgomery County banks have 10% or more of deposit market share underscores the extraordinary competitiveness within the market.

The updated market share reports – recently posted on the FDIC website – are based on federally insured deposits of banks and thrifts through June 30th, 2017.

Clarksville Makes Pitch for TSSAA Football Championships

Visit Clarksville TennesseeClarksville, TN – With a little luck and a lot of community support, local tourism officials are hoping Clarksville will host the Tennessee Secondary Schools Athletic Association (TSSAA) state football championships beginning in 2017.

Visit Clarksville and Austin Peay State University athletic department officials hosted a site visit for seven TSSAA staff earlier in September to show just what Clarksville has to offer.

Rain doesn’t dampen spirits at 21st Annual APSU Governors Bass Tournament

APSU Governors Bass TournamentBuchanan, TN – The 21st annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament was held in the rain Saturday, May 16th on Kentucky Lake. Boats launched from Paris Landing State Park at 6:00am. There were 212 boats registered for the event and 200 competed for the $12,000 in prize money.

The weather was clear some but mainly held to a steady rain for most of the day with periods of light drizzle. Despite the conditions, the fishermen were in high spirits at the start of the event.

Tiffany Bryant Joins Legal Aid Society as Victim Advocate in Clarksville

Bryant previously served as a family advocate for the Child Advocacy Center of the 23rd Judicial District and has experience working with The Salvation Army: Joy D.
