Road Closures Announced For 2014 Go Commando Half Marathon Powered by CDE Lightband

Customs House Museum to host Collection of Outsider Art

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – The Customs House Museum presents The Outsiders: Folk Art from the Hicks & Vander Elst Collections in the museum’s Orgain Gallery. The exhibition runs through September 7th, and features the work of notable artists Reverend Howard Finster, Georgia Blizzard, and Mose T, among others.

“This showing of works exemplifies the characteristics of the Outsider artist,” states Exhibits Curator Terri Jordan. “We are thrilled that Mr. Hicks and Mr. Vander Elst are sharing their treasures with us. This show is a great treat for the museum’s visitors. Our younger guests seem especially excited with the artwork.”

Planters Bank Promotes Amanda Vinson and Jessica Shaw

Planters BankHopkinsville, KY – Planters Bank announces the promotions of Amanda Vinson to Vice President/Commercial Lending and Jessica Shaw to Commercial Banking Officer.

Vinson joined Planters Bank in January 2005 as a customer service representative and was later promoted to credit analyst, senior credit analyst, and assistant vice president. Vinson graduated from Houston County High School and received a B.B.A with a concentration in Finance from Austin Peay State University in 2002. She is married to Dane.

Flying High is Customs House Museum’s preeminent fundraiser of the year, supporting educational and exhibit programming of the Museum.

Clarksville’s Customs House Museum announces Juried Exhibition Winners

Clarksville's Customs House Museum and Cultural CenterClarksville, TN – This month the Customs House unveiled Figuratively Speaking, its National Juried Exhibition. This is the first time the biennial show has taken on a theme.

Juror Ruth Crnkovich selected thirty-two pieces from over ninety-five entries.
