Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation says be a part of a Clarksville tradition by participating in this year’s annual Christmas parade, hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government. This night-time, lighted Christmas parade is scheduled for 5:00pm Saturday, December 1st, 2018 in downtown Clarksville.
Three time cancer survivor Kristie Mixon will be this year’s grand marshal. Join Clarksville Mayor McMillan for the official tree lighting ceremony on Public Square immediately after the parade.

Montgomery County, TN – James Corlew Chevrolet was honored with a green ribbon cutting on Friday, November 9th, 2018 as the newest member of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP).
The ceremony was attended by Montgomery County Mayor Jim Durrett, Montgomery County Chief of Staff Jeff Truitt, Montgomery County Emergency Medical Services Director Jimmie Edwards, Melinda Shepard of the Clarksville Chamber of Commerce, CMCGP Manager Carlye Sommers, CMCGCP Steering Committee members Bill Harpel (City of Clarksville), Rose Melton (Altra Federal Credit Union), and Doug Jones (Montgomery County).

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Veterans Day Parade will take place on Saturday, November 10th, 2018 with pre-parade ceremonies set for 9:00am in front of the historic courthouse (south side) on Third Street in downtown Clarksville.
Keynote speaker is Dr. David A. Wesner, pastor of Faith Outreach Church North, Adjunct Professor at Austin Peay State University and a Vietnam veteran.
Clarksville’s Riverside Drive Pedestrian Bridge to get Painted

Clarksville, TN – Painting of Clarksville’s Riverside Drive Pedestrian Overpass at College Street will begin Monday, October 15th, 2018 and continue through Friday, October 26th, excluding weekends.
Motorists should be alert for reduced speeds and rerouting of lanes through the work zone.

Workers from Pride Concrete LLC work Monday on the Clarksville Riverside Drive Pedestrian Overpass. The painting project, which will require some lane changes, is expected to begin October 15th.
APSU Board of Trustees approves new Military Family Resource Center

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, September 14th, 2018 Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam, who will leave office when his term ends later this fall, visited Austin Peay State University, and he asked the school’s Board of Trustees what he should tell his successor about the University. Don Jenkins, a trustee, immediately mentioned Austin Peay’s military focus.
“This is a very military-friendly town, but it’s an incredibly military-friendly college,” he said.

APSU Center of Excellence for Creative Arts to host “An Elegant Obsession” on September 7th

This event will be hosted by the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA), and guests with reserved seating may attend a formal reception from 5:00pm-7:00pm at 416 College Street on the night of the premiere.
