Clarksville, TN – Mrs. Tennessee Petite America 2014, Crystal Nyhus, hosted at collection drive for Sanctuary, Inc. on Saturday, August 9th, 2014 at Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery in Clarksville.
Sanctuary, Inc. is a nonprofit agency committed to the provision of preventative and restorative services to victims of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Clarksville Police Union “Clothe a Child” event Saturday

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 14th 2013, at the Sango Wal-Mart, at 8:00am, the Clarksville Police Union will be taking fifty under-privileged children clothes shopping. Each child will get to spend $100.00.
The children have been selected from 10 elementary schools spread throughout Montgomery County. The event will last no more than (1) one hour. Detective Tyler Barrett urges anyone to come out to assist and that the event should be fun for all involved.
Riverfest to hold First Annual Recycled Fashion Show September 8th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 8th, 2012 Riverfest will hold the First Annual Recycled Fashion Show. This free event is intended to educate the general public about recycling in a fun and interactive environment. Students and adults of all ages are invited to show their created fashions made from recycled materials.
The show will start at 4:00pm on the Blue Cross Blue Shield Stage at McGregor Park.

Back-To-School Supplies and Clothing Giveaway

Clarksville, TN – Free school supplies and clothing will be given away at the annual Raliegh A. Jones Back-to-School Bash, which will be held Sunday, August 7th, at 3:00pm at Northwest High School. Doors will open at 2:00pm.

Nashville, TN – The State of Tennessee’s Annual Sales Tax Holiday is held every year on the first Friday in August and ends the following Sunday night. This year’s tax-free holiday weekend begins at 12:01am on Friday, August 5th and ends Sunday, August 7th at 11:59pm.

August Sales Tax Holiday Provides Big Savings for All Tennesseans
Nashville, TN – The fifth annual Sales Tax Holiday is scheduled for Friday, August 6th and continuing through Sunday, August 8th. The Department of Revenue is reminding Tennessee shoppers that during these three days of savings, you can save almost 10 percent on tax-free clothing, school and art supplies and computer purchases.
“The annual Sales Tax Holiday was designed with Tennessee families in mind,” said Governor Phil Bredesen. “The holiday provides much needed savings for all Tennessee shoppers and prepares children for success by making sure they start the first day of school properly equipped with items they need.”
The holiday begins Friday, August 6th at 12:01am and ends Sunday, August 8th at 11:59pm. Nashville – The Tennessee Department of Revenue reminds shoppers that the 2009 Sales Tax Holiday is scheduled for this Friday, August 7 through Sunday, August 9.This annual weekend of savings provides three full days of tax breaks on clothing, school and art supplies, and computer purchases. Although the holiday provides savings for back-to-school purchases, anyone can take advantage of the savings this weekend.
The holiday begins Friday, August 7 at 12:01 a.m. and ends Sunday, August 9 at 11:59 p.m. During the designated three-day weekend, consumers will not pay state or local sales tax on select clothing with a price of $100 or less per item, school and art supplies with a price of $100 or less per item, and computers with a price of $1,500 or less.
