Warm Souls touches hundreds Christmas Eve

Clarksville, TN – Jon Vaughn of Radical Mission Compassionate Ministries stood at the main entrance of the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Morgan University Center on Christmas Eve, welcoming hundreds of people who were in need of a little help during the holiday season.
“This is our 12th year of doing this,” Vaughn said. “During the last 11 years we have served a little over 12,000 meals, and given away more than 15,000 toys. We have also provided 350 free haircuts in the four years our volunteers have offered that service.”
Clarksville Park and Recreation’s Christmas on the Cumberland continues through January 1st

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s popular lighted walk through event, Christmas on the Cumberland continues now through January 1st, 2020. Bring your family, relatives and friends down to the McGregor Park RiverWalk to enjoy the festive lighting displays.
Christmas on the Cumberland is open nightly from 5:00pm-10:00pm, Sunday through Thursday and 5:00pm-11:00pm, Fridays and Saturdays through January 1st, 2020.
Admission is free.
Thousands come out every year to Christmas on the Cumberland to experience the captivating display of more than two million lights.

Historic Dog Hill Neighborhood to hold annual Luminary Event, Saturday

Clarksville, TN – On the evening of Saturday, December 21st, 2019, the residents of Dog Hill Historic District in downtown Clarksville will hold the Annual Illuminating Dog Hill holiday event.
The public is invited to visit the district and enjoy the candlelit luminaries which the residents of Dog Hill will have on display from 5:00pm-7:00pm. The Dog Hill Historic District includes the area of Munford Avenue, First Street, Union Street, Madison Street and Second Street.

Clarksville Transit System offers Special Holiday Services

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) will be offering several free services to help residents cope with the hustle and bustle of the holiday season.
On Tuesday, December 24th, 2019, CTS is offering free transportation from the Downtown Transit Center to the Annual Warm Souls Christmas Celebration at the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Morgan University Center.
Legends Bank Provides Protection for Seniors in the Community

APSU ROTC named one of the top programs in the nation

Clarksville, TN – It’s official – Austin Peay State University (APSU) is home to one of the best Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) programs in the nation.
On December 16th, 2019, the U.S. Army Cadet Command announced the eight winners of the 2019-2020 MacArthur Awards, with APSU’s Governor’s Guard winning the award for the 7th Brigade.
Clarksville Academy’s Literacy Day delighted Students

Clarksville, TN – Sally Allen of Clarksville Academy recently invited a few lucky individuals to stop by for the school’s annual Literacy Day.
“Each year, we bring a favorite Christmas story to life for our Pre-K – 5th grade students,” Allen said. “This year, we will use the book Frosty the Snowman. Our library will be transformed into the magical world of Frosty, and it’s sure to be a hit with our students.”
