APSU raises $11.4 million during second-highest giving year in University history

Pool Parties include distribution of School Supplies

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is helping children gear up for the new school year with the return of the Back to School Splash.

Students, grades K-12, are invited to enjoy low-cost pool parties where they will receive a backpack full of school supplies. Hot dogs, chips, and a drink will be served to students and parents.

“We’re excited to be hosting the Back to School Splash again this year,” said Kimberly Gilbert, Aquatics Superintendent for Clarksville Parks and Recreation.

APSU Governor’s School for Computational Physics uses old school tech, telegrams, to reach out to homebound students

“I wanted the students to have a memento of the weirdest Governor’s School ever,” said Bryan Gaither, Austin Peay State University’s professional mad scientist.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – After years of being hidden away inside of campus, the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Ann Ross Bookstore now has a more prominent home at the corner of College and Fourth streets in downtown Clarksville. The University officially opened the new, 13,000-square-foot location in late June, providing more space for merchandise and greater community access.

Clarksville Arts ad Heritage Development Council seeks submissions for 2021 Cultural Calendar

Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development CouncilClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Arts and Heritage Development Council (AHDC) is putting out a call to artists who are interested in having their work featured in the 13th annual Cultural Calendar.  Each month will feature an artist’s work and highlight upcoming arts and heritage events.
 
Submitted work will be juried to determine which piece is featured each month, as well as which artwork appears on the cover.  As in years past, calendars will be available through AHDC’s website, as well as in the Customs House Museum’s “Seasons” gift shop and other locations around town.

Clarksville Downtown Parking Changes Proposed

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – Downtown merchants and property owners gathered Wednesday to hear City of Clarksville officials and consultants from Premier Parking outline potential changes to on-street metered parking in Downtown Clarksville.

City officials said the changes would create a more consumer friendly approach to downtown parking and overcome some of the current system’s equipment and enforcement challenges.
