Clarksville, TN – For the second year, the Cumberland Winds is celebrating Black History Month with a special concert in the intimate setting of the Roxy Regional Theatre on Wednesday, February 23rd, 2022 at 7:00pm.
This year’s theme, “Seeking Our Soul,” takes a journey through musical styles from traditional spirituals to jazz and classical styles, identifying points of connection throughout.

Clarksville, TN – Film producer, writer, and director Chris Zander, in partnership with L.O.S.S. (Lending Our Shared Stories), will present his new documentary “A Palette Of Shades” at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Sunday, February 20th, 2022 at 4:00pm.
Featuring Dr. Eva Gibson, Dr. Monique Freemon, Harold Wallace III, Frances Hubbard, Sherman Wilson, and Treva R. Gordon, the film addresses Colorism, the practice of favoring lighter skin over darker skin.

Fort Defiance to host Black History Month Event

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will host a Black History Month event from 1:00pm-2:15pm on Saturday, February 12th, at Fort Defiance Civil War Park and Interpretive Center.
This free, educational event is open to the public and will feature the presentation “Your Story and Lives Won’t Die Twice” from the following guests of the Mt. Olive Cemetery Historical Preservation Society (MOCHPS) and Austin Peay State University:

February Science on Tap to lead attendees through science-based escape game mystery

Clarksville, TN – When Science on Tap returns to Strawberry Alley Ale Works on February 1st, Dr. Leslie Hiatt will lead attendees into the role of detective as they try to solve an escape game mystery – and to learn more about the scientific method.
That’s how Hiatt’s Quantitative Chemical Analysis class works – using a semester-long escape game where students use the scientific method to solve a fictional murder in the chemistry department.

Customs House Museum and Cultural Center announces Newly Renovated Explorers Landing Children’s Area to Reopen January 29th

Clarksville, TN – Explorers Landing has been a popular feature of the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center for more than 25 years. In October of 2020, the Museum announced a generous donation from the Kiwanis Club of Clarksville in order to renovate the beloved space.
Fast forward 15 months and the newly renovated space will open for the first time to Museum visitors on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 since its closure in November 2021.
