Clarksville, TN – Every Saturday in June, the Clarksville Transit System is offering free rides.
“We have so many loyal customers and we want to show them our appreciation,” said Arthur Bing of the Clarksville Transit System. “It is CTS’ 27th anniversary and we want to thank our everyday customers and welcome new riders.”

Planters Bank Promotes Amanda Vinson and Jessica Shaw

Hopkinsville, KY – Planters Bank announces the promotions of Amanda Vinson to Vice President/Commercial Lending and Jessica Shaw to Commercial Banking Officer.
Vinson joined Planters Bank in January 2005 as a customer service representative and was later promoted to credit analyst, senior credit analyst, and assistant vice president. Vinson graduated from Houston County High School and received a B.B.A with a concentration in Finance from Austin Peay State University in 2002. She is married to Dane.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation to take part in “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson”

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites citizens to take part, as waterparks, pools and other aquatic facilities across the world attempt to break the Guinness World Record of the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson on Friday, June 20th at Beachaven, New Providence, Swan Lake and Smith pools at 10:00am.

Customs House Museum Celebrates the Armed Forces this Summer

Clarksville, TN – For the first time, the Customs House will feature a video installation in the Orgain Gallery, Serving Abroad…Through Their Eyes as part of the summer exhibit schedule.
Local photographer Greg Williamson will also showcase images of his time embedded with the troops.
Manna Café to host Mobile Pantry at Fellowship Church, June 13th

Clarksville, TN – Manna Café Ministries will conduct a Mobile Pantry on Friday, June 13th at Fellowship Church, 2201 Peacher’s Mill Road, starting at 10:00am.
Please note that the location of this Pantry has been changed from a previously announced site. At this event, Manna Café will be giving away food to anyone in the community needing assistance with groceries.

Austin Peay State University Jazz event to honor local music legend Solie Fott

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Solie Fott, Austin Peay State University professor emeritus of music, considers himself to be just a fiddle player, but that’s a bit of an understatement.
Throughout his sideline career as a Nashville sessions string player, he has performed with some of the top names in modern music history, including Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison, Kris Kristofferson and Eddie Arnold.

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host the 2nd Annual Wonder Kids Triathlon to be held August 2nd!
This event is open to boys and girls ages 3-12 and will take place at New Providence Pool and surrounding area of 166 Cunningham Lane.
TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo set for Saturday, June 7th

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 7th, 2014, from 8:30am until 10:30am, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency (TWRA) and the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be holding the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at the Liberty Park pond.
The event coincides with Tennessee’s annual Free Fishing Day is Saturday, June 7th when anyone may fish free without a license in the state’s public waters.
Planters Bank Gallery Hosts Scenes by Kay Lamirande in June

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Artist Kay Limirande will show an exhibit of landscapes and nature scenes at the Planters Bank-Hilldale Gallery on Thursday, June 5th – Wednesday, July 2nd.
Lamirande’s exhibit includes scenes from France, Japan, and Colorado, along with a variety of beach scenes in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and drawings.
