Manna Café Ministries to hold Manna Madness in March

Manna Madness will have food drives at select grocery stores each weekend of March.

The goal is to raise over 28,000 pounds of food and over $5,000.

Clarksville Transit System - CTSClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) recently placed four new bus shelters.

“I’ve heard passengers request more bus shelters,” said Arthur Bing Sr., City of Clarksville transportation director. “We at CTS are working hard to get more bus shelters installed around the city as quickly as possible.”

The Clarksville Transit System placed four new bus shelters around the Tiny Town Road area this month. The shelters include a bench, solar powered LED lights, a trash receptacle and space for wheelchair access.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – On January 24th, 2018, Austin Peay State University, in association with the Consul-General of Japan in Nashville, hosted a delegation of four Japanese citizens visiting Tennessee as part of the “Walk in the U.S., Talk on Japan” program, a key initiative of the Japanese government designed to promote cultural and political awareness of Japan in several major U.S. cities.

Austin Peay State University Chamber Singers and orchestra to present Mozart’s “Missa Solemnis”

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – At 7:30pm on Thursday, February 28th, 2019 the Austin Peay State University Symphony Orchestra and the University’s Chamber Singers will present Mozart’s “Missa Solemnis in C” in the Mabry Concert Hall.

The concert, which is free and open to the public, will also feature the winners – Hayden Giesseman and Berta Teodora – of the APSU Department of Music’s 2018-19 Concerto Competition.

Harper Lee’s American Classic “To Kill A Mockingbird” plays the Roxy Regional Theatre, March 8th – March 23rd

Clarskville's Roxy Regional TheatreClarksville, TN – One of the most enduring pieces of American literature takes to the stage of Clarksville’s oldest professional theatre, the Roxy Regional Theatre, this spring.

Based on Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize-winning coming-of-age novel about a man wrongly convicted and persecuted for a crime on the basis of his skin color, “To Kill A Mockingbird” opens at the Roxy Regional Theatre on Friday, March 8th, at 8:00pm.

In keeping with the theatre’s traditional pay-what-you-can opening night, all tickets not pre-sold at the full price will go on sale at 7:30pm that evening for a $5.00 minimum donation.

Austin Peay State University - APSUClarksville, TN – Last Friday morning, Dr. Alisa White, Austin Peay State University president, told several community leaders that she is proud of the University’s record enrollment of 10,954 students and Austin Peay’s position as the fastest-growing university in Tennessee.

The mid-term goal is to reach 13,000 students with an eventual steady enrollment state of 15,000 students.

Clarksville Film Festival screening set for March 9th

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – Celebrate local filmmakers with Clarksville Parks and Recreation and the Roxy Regional Theatre at a public screening from 5:00pm-7:00pm Saturday, March 9th, 2019 as part of the Clarksville Film Festival.

Earlier this month, 11 teams were given 52 hours to script, shoot and produce a 4-7 minute film using predetermined lines and props.

Films will be judged by industry experts and top teams will be awarded.
