Clarksville, TN – Citizens and visitors across Clarksville are invited to ride Clarksville Transit System (CTS) buses for free all day long Thursday, February 3rd. For route and schedule information, go to www.ridects.com.
“The reason we’re offering this free day is that public transportation throughout middle Tennessee, and especially in Clarksville, is becoming more and more important due to our community’s growth and to rising gas prices. People are looking for better ways to get around town while saving money, saving time and avoiding traffic congestion,” says Jimmy Smith, CTS Director. “With this free day, we’re inviting all Clarksville citizens and visitors who haven’t had a chance to ride the bus to do so. And this is also a great way to thank all of our current riders for their patronage. Our buses are clean, safe and convenient, and we’ll get you to where you need to go. Clarksville Transit System Offers 23rd annual “Operation Safe Ride”

New Year’s Eve
Clarksville, TN – For the 23rd straight year, the Clarksville Transit System will offer free bus rides on New Year’s Eve, into the early morning hours of New Year’s Day. Operation Safe Ride is a five-hour service offering free rides home from any public or private location within the Clarksville city limits. The number to call to get a free ride home is 931-553-2429.
“Our single purpose with this program is to help prevent drunk driving in our region,” said Clarksville Transit Director Jimmy Smith. “We continue to offer Operation Safe Ride to the Clarksville community as a way to give back and help keep our citizens and roadways safe during a key evening that can be particularly hazardous for many.” [Read more]
Clarksville Fire Rescue to Host Event on September 11th

Clarksville Fire Rescue will be hosting an open house prior to the September 11th Memorial Ceremony. The event will be located at Fire Station #1 at 802 Main Street from 3:00pm until 6:00pm at which time the Memorial Ceremony will commence.
There will be plenty of fun for the entire family. Children will have a great time with Tennessee Bear, Ollie the Otter, Sparky the Fire dog, search and rescue dogs and lots of other activities. The event will also include antique vehicles, a fire smoke trailer, firefighter equipment and other safety related items on display. The public is encouraged to come.
Free refreshments will be provided. The Clarksville Transit System will provide free transportation from RiverFest to Austin Peay parking lots and the fire station and then back to the Riverfront.

Joe Diffie to Perform at the City of Clarksville’s Independence Day Celebration

The City of Clarksville and Aetna Insurance are celebrating our nation’s independence this year with the fourth annual Independence Day Celebration on Saturday, July 3rd at McGregor Park.
The event will be filled with food, fun and entertainment for the entire family. Activities begin at 6:00p.m.
Performers Tina Brown and McAllister’s Crossroads will provide live music throughout the evening, followed by country music artist, Joe Diffie. The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale, the largest in Clarksville. Again, this year’s fireworks display will feature the popular and exciting water pyrotechnics.
