Roxy Regional Theatre presents Roxy Reads featuring “Waiting For Godot” in theotherspace, Wednesday

Clarksville, TN – Take a break from the Roxy Regional Theatre’s full-size mainstage productions (such as “The Fantasticks”, closing Saturday) and join us upstairs in theotherspace this Wednesday, February 26th at 7:00pm as we continue our “Roxy Reads” series with a reading of Samuel Beckett’s “Waiting For Godot”.
In this “tragicomedy in two acts,” two wandering tramps, Vladimir and Estragon, wait by a lonely tree, to meet up with Mr. Godot, an enigmatic figure in a world where time, place and memory are blurred and meaning is where you find it.

Clarksville, TN – Madeleine’s Place recently opened at the corner of Strawberry Alley and First Street, the owners’ second Clarksville location, where they deliver a mix of French home-cooking, breads, pastries and more.
For Valentine’s Day, Owners, Haja Bosela and Eric Moutard, along with their small but talented staff, served up a 5-course meal at the cozy 40-seat bistro that somehow managed at once to completely satisfy their guests, and leave them wanting more.
Chef Pierre Herme-inspired Isaphan (Rose, Raspberry and Lychee) Macaron Cake filled with butter creme, hints of chocolate and raspberry, and a dollop of Raspberry Coulis on the side.

Planters Bank Donates over $27,000 to Non-Profit Organizations

Hopkinsville, KY – During the Planters Bank Season of Giving, 12 non-profit organizations were supported throughout Western Kentucky and Tennessee. The Planters Bank social media and in-branch giving campaign resulted in 12 local non-profit agencies receiving a total of $27,356.19.
Completing its sixth year, the Planters Bank Season of Giving is a bank tradition that has a goal of bringing awareness to each non-profit agency’s mission at the same time as fundraising for the organizations.

APSU languages and literature students to present their scholarship at international conferences

Clarksville, TN – Five Austin Peay State University (APSU) languages and literature students are headed to Las Vegas next month to present their scholarly research at the Sigma Tau Delta International Convention. Sigma Tau Delta is an international English honor society with a strong, student-run chapter at Austin Peay State University.

Candlelight Ball auction to raise money for APSU scholarships

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University (APSU) Candlelight Ball is set for Saturday, March 14th, 2020.
Charlie Daniels, the Country Music Hall of Famer known for “sawing on a fiddle and playing it hot,” helped reinvigorate that 400-year-old instrument with his 1979 hit, “The Devil Went Down to Georgia.”
Austin Peay State University Candlelight Ball Auction features incredible items including a signed Charlie Daniels fiddle.
