American Cancer Society Relay For Life to hold Kickoff Rally

Kickoff Rally on September 18 at Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center

Clarksville, TN – The American Cancer Society Relay For Life^®of Montgomery County will get together at 6:00pm on September 18th with event volunteers and participants at the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center to officially kickoff their fundraising efforts for the year.

The rally will feature speakers from the community who have benefited from funds raised at Relay, will honor cancer survivors as well as recognize this year’s participating teams and their contributions toward this effort. This event also marks the first opportunity to register a team and select a campsite for the overnight event to be held on May 18th, 2013.

Curves Tiny Town to celebrate third birthday by raising money for the Fort Campbell Fisher House

APSU Clarinetist Wang receives Tennessee Individual Artist Fellowship

Clarksville, TN – Dr. Mingzhe Wang, Austin Peay State University assistant professor of music, was in New York City this summer when his cell phone started ringing. The unfamiliar number had a 931 area code, so he thought someone on campus might be trying to contact him.

“I picked it up and it was (Tennessee State Senator) Tim Barnes,” Wang recalled recently. “I thought, oh, he’s probably calling me about some re-election stuff.”

But Barnes was calling for another reason. He congratulated Wang for being one of only two musicians in the state to receive a coveted Tennessee Arts Commission Individual Artists Fellowship. [Read more]

Sunburst Beauty Pageant at Governors Square Mall Saturday

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 15th, 2012 the Sunburst Beauty Pageant will be held at Governor’s Square Mall at the Dick’s Sporting Goods Court at 4:30pm. Everyone receives a crown and trophy.

Clarksville, TN – Governor’s Square Mall will be hosting our first annual community health fair on Saturday, September 15th from 10:00am-3:00pm.

Exhibitors will be set up in Center Court and Dick’s Sporting Goods Court. The first 250 visitors at Center Court will receive a goody bag!

James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac teams up with Royals Futbol Club to help raise thousands of dollars for youth soccer program

Clarksville, TN – In the spirit of teamwork taught by youth sports, James Corlew Chevrolet Cadillac is teaming up with Royals Futbol Club to provide their players and coaches with soccer kits filled with equipment bags, pop-up nets, sport cones, scrimmage vests, t-shirts, a sponsorship check and an opportunity to help them raise funds.

Royals Futbol Club will have the opportunity to raise as much as $10,000 through a fundraising opportunity where one lucky recipient will win his or her choice of a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox or 2012 Chevrolet Cruze. Another lucky winner will receive a Home Entertainment Package.
