Dow soars to new heights

Less than a week later, the index fulfilled its promise, trading as high as 14,286.37 to break both its record close of 14,164.53, on October 9th, 2007, and its intraday high of 14,198.10, reached around the same time.

APSU concert to showcase beauty and versatility of the cello in Britten Suites

The APSU Music DepartmentClarksville, TN – In the early 1960s, the famed English composer Benjamin Britten attended a London concert featuring a young Russian cellist named Mstislav Rostropovich. According to the Colorado Britten Society, the English composer bobbed “up and down like a school boy” as he listened to Rostropovich.

That concert was a fortuitous event in the development of modern classical music. The two men became friends, and Britten went on to write three stunningly beautiful cello suites for Rostropovich.
