Customs House Museum Exhibits Tom Malone: Art from Influence

Clarksville, TN – A series of women’s faces fill the Customs House Museum’s Crouch gallery from September 13th through October 20th.
The first thing one notices about Tom Malone’s figurative works are the eyes. Expressionistic and haunting, there is a continuity that is Malone’s signature style. Displayed in chronological order, the viewer can sense the development of Malone’s talent.
Clarksville Riverfest Tour d’Art Winners

Clarksville, TN – Every year, Clarksville’s Riverfest Tour d’Art exhibits feature the talents from artists across the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
There are three divisions; the Senior (Downtown Artists Co-op), the High School (Customs House Museum) and the Amateur and Professional Divisions (Smith-Trahern Mansion).
After hundreds of artists had their works of art on display at various locations in downtown Clarksville, then judged by artist Dane Carder, winners were awarded at the Tour d’Art Receptions, Friday, September 6th, 2013. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – The economic data were mixed, but mostly on the strong side of expectations. The ISM’s two monthly surveys surprised to the upside. Motor vehicle sales advanced
However, the August Employment Report disappointed. Nonfarm payrolls rose by 169,000 (vs. a median forecast of +180,000 and expectations of an upside surprise). Figures for June and July were revised a net 74,000 lower (July went from +162,000 to +104,000).
Manufacturing rose by 6,000. Construction was flat. Retail added 44,000. The unemployment rate fell to 7.3%, but that was due to lower labor force participation (the lowest since May 1978).

Clarksville Riverfest headliner Phil Vassar to perform Saturday night

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, September 7th Country recording artist Phil Vassar will take the stage at Clarksville’s Riverfest Festival at 9:00pm as the headlining performer on the Miller Stage. The concert is free and open to the public.

Riverside Drive Lane Closures for Clarksville’s Riverfest and Park Information

Clarksville, TN – There will be lane closures on Riverside Drive for Clarksville’s Riverfest through September 7th. Traffic will be slower moving than usual during this time period, so we recommend drivers plan alternate routes or give themselves plenty of time to travel to their destination.
Free parking will be available at Austin Peay State University’s Dunn Center parking lot. Bus service will be running every 30-45 minutes to shuttle patrons to the Riverfest gates on Saturday only, beginning at 9:30am and continuing until the park closes.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Fall Family Campout has been rescheduled to a new date

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Fall Family Campout at Billy Dunlop Park has been rescheduled.
The Family Campout, originally scheduled to be held Saturday, September 21st, through Sunday, September 22nd, at the park located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road will now be held Saturday, September 28th through Sunday, September 29th at the same location. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Riverfest is proud to bring Sidewalk Prophets, a Christian recording group, to the First Baptist Church Stage Friday night, September 6th. The Sidewalk Prophets will be performing at 9:00pm.
They will be singing hits like “These Simple Truths”, “The Words I Would Say”, “You Can Have Me”, “You Love Me Anyway” and “Live Like That” from their two cds “These Simple Truths” and “Live Like That”.
