Roxy Regional Theatre launches ‘I Support the Arts’ campaign with “The Earth Without Art Is Just ‘Eh'” Yard Signs

Clarksville, TN – The Roxy Regional Theatre is offering a different type of yard sign after this especially contentious and divisive political season.
“The Earth Without Art Is Just ‘Eh'” vertical yard signs are a new grassroots fundraiser to support the iconic Roxy Regional Theatre organization with a 38-year tenure in Historic Downtown Clarksville.
“With all of the divisive political advertisements surrounding the November election, we hope to launch an ‘I Support the Arts’ campaign that can bring unity to the community around the idea of supporting the arts,” said Ryan Bowie, Executive Director of the Roxy Regional Theatre.

CTS Spooky Special ready to roll again
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Transit System (CTS) Spooky Special is back for another Spooky Clarksville tour.
The Halloween-adorned bus will run the streets of Clarksville, offering free rides on Friday, October 30th and Saturday, October 31st, 2020.
The Spooky Special, or Spooky Bus as some call it, is a Clarksville Transit System Halloween tradition that started 29 years ago to help residents get acquainted with the local public transportation service and to thank consistent passengers.
This Week at APSU: Feed a Gov gives Food to Austin Peay Students in need

But those students must visit www.apsu.edu/feed-a-gov this week to fill out a survey to make sure they are added to the program.
APSU’s SGI and Tennessee State Parks set “good fire” at Dunbar Cave

Clarksville, TN – On a clear October afternoon, 15 acres of restored native prairie at Dunbar Cave State Park in Clarksville, Tennessee, went up in flames. Smoke lifted high over city streets and neighborhoods, while community volunteers and officials with the Tennessee Division of Natural Areas cheered on a well-planned prescribed fire to help promote and enhance native prairie species.
APSU’s Candlelight Ball to return next May

Clarksville, TN – Last spring, the COVID-19 Coronavirus pandemic caused Austin Peay State University (APSU) to cancel its premier social event, the Candlelight Ball, for the first time in 36 years.
The ball, which raises money for vital student scholarships, is set to return next spring, and organizers are working to keep the annual celebration from suffering another disruption.

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, October 24th, 2020, the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Movies in the Park presented by Kyrstin Frate with Keller Williams will take place for the final time of 2020 at Liberty Park Athletic Field.
Disney’s 2019 release “The Lion King” will be the movie, and activities will begin at 4:00pm, followed by the movie at sunset, which is around 6:15pm.
