Austin Peay State University students and faculty to be feature in new exhibit in Nashville

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art will be showcasing the work of its students and faculty this Saturday, February 7th at the L Gallery, located in the heart of Nashville’s art district.
Titled “ALL IN: Students and Faculty Selections from APSU”, the exhibit will feature artwork by students in a number of disciplines, including Karlie Allen (graphic design), Amy Duncan (drawing), Amy Dean (ceramics), Laura Praseutkoun (photography) and Laura Ward (sculpture).

Yoga’s Back at the Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville, TN – Starting this Wednesday, February 4th, from 8:30am to 9:30am, yoga instructor Sara Jane Hayes will be holding classes here at the Roxy Regional Theatre for five consecutive Wednesdays: February 4th, February 11th, February 18th, February 25th and March 4th.
All classes are $5.00 (cash or check only, please). This is a Vinyasa class for all levels, and all are welcome.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to commemorate the 153rd Anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center February 21st

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, February 21st from 10:00am to 4:00pm, the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a living history event to commemorate the 153rd anniversary of the Surrender of Clarksville.
Come see uniformed Civil War re-enactors from Baxter’s Battery who will provide living history and musket firing demonstrations.

February ArtWalk to benefit American Heart Association
Clarksville, TN – Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.
With February being American Heart Month, several businesses will be supporting the American Heart Association with donations or a percentage of sales going to the association. In addition, we encourage people to participate in National Wear Red Day on February 5th and wear red to promote awareness of heart disease in women.

Clarksville, TN – As expected, Greece’s election resulted in a turn to the left. The new leadership indicated that it intends to remain in the euro, but will seek a reduction in austerity and some restructuring of the country’s debt.
That sets up a conflict with other European countries that oppose such moves. This will likely take some time to resolve, with headlines expected to add to global financial market volatility in the weeks to come. Meanwhile, euro area inflation fell to -0.6% y/y.
Real GDP rose at a 2.6% annual rate in the advance estimate for 4Q14 (vs. a median forecast of +3.1%), but it was still a good report. As expected, it was a strong quarter for consumer spending (+4.3%), but a relatively soft quarter for business fixed investment (+1.9%).
