Clarksville, TN – The 13th Annual Rivers and Spires Festival, April 16th-18th in downtown Clarksville, is free and open to the public. The Festival features five stages of music and entertainment, arts and crafts, marketplace, food vendors and activities for all ages.
Road closures for this week have been announced for the Rivers and Spires Festival in downtown Clarksville.
Pool and Spa Depot opens location in Clarksville

Clarksville, TN – Pool and Spa Depot, a nationally recognized swimming pool and spa business has expanded its operations to Clarksville. Pool and Spa Depot’s state of the art facility is now open at 160 Terminal Lane.
The new location showcases some of Tennessee’s best selections for in ground and above ground pools, hot tubs, tanning beds, saunas, patio furniture and hardscape options.

Rivers and Spires Sports Zone Returns for the Second Year

Clarksville, TN – For the second year, the Festival is pleased to offer a zone geared especially for the sports enthusiast. From novice to semi-pro, the Sports Zone is for you!
Come on out to the Festival on Friday, April 17th, 5:00pm-9:00pm and Saturday, April 18th, 10:00am-8:00pm, to try your hand at everything from games of agility to games of sports knowledge. There’s no reason to be shy about working up a sweat and showing off your mad skills at this year’s Festival!

APSU’s Watauga Arts Academy looking for high school students interested in the arts

Clarksville, TN – The Watauga Arts Academy, hosted by Austin Peay State University, is a summer program offering high school students the opportunity to participate in a collaborative and creative “think tank” for visual arts, music, dance and theatre.
Watauga is a two-week residential arts camp for students in grades 9-12, with this year’s camp taking place June 14th-27th.

Clarksville’s Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for April 15th through April 19th, 2015

Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Nature Walk at Port Royal, Woods Walk, Night Hike, Bird Hike, and Trail of Tears at Port Royal.

Clarksville, TN – The economic data calendar was thin. Stock market participants finally got their chance to react to the disappointing employment data for March (the report was released on Good Friday).
However, the negative response was brief, as the market opened lower on Monday and then quickly turned up. The markets seemed to be looking for direction through the week, but failed to find much in the early earnings reports.

Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University student Lauren McKinney will exhibit her tintype portraits and prints in the show, “Sui Generis” from April 13th-16th, 2015, between 8:00am-5:00pm. The opening reception is free to the public and takes place on Monday, April 13th from 5:00pm-8:00pm.
McKinney’s portraits celebrate the unique characteristics of both the individual and the tintype by highlighting the inherent qualities of each individual photographed. [Read more]
