APSU’s Community School for the Arts hosts inaugural dance recital, announces summer arts classes

Clarksville, TN – In February, the Community School for the Arts (CSA) at Austin Peay State University (APSU) kicked off a semester of dance classes – creative movement, ballet, contemporary, and jazz – for community members of all ages, and on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 those participants showed off their new skills with the CSA’s inaugural dance recital.

Hilltop Supermarket to hold 2021 Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook-Off May 14th-15th

Clarksville, TN – This Friday and Saturday, May 14th and 15th, Hilltop Supermarket will hold their annual Dwayne Byard Memorial BBQ Cook Off. This event is held in honor of Dwayne Byard who passed away in 2015.
Everything kicks off Friday with live music from 6:00pm until 9:00pm and the Kids Cook-Off.

Customs House Museum teams with American Red Cross to Celebrate 140 Years of the Red Cross

Clarksville, TN – On May 21st, 1881, 140 years ago, Clara Burton founded the American Red Cross on the basis of wanting to help others in distress. Barton risked her life to bring supplies and support to soldiers in the field during the Civil War.
Over the last 140 years, the American Red Cross has expanded to provide many services to members of the American armed forces and their families, as well as provide disaster relief in the United States and around the world.
