Clarksville’s Native American Cultural Circle to hold 18th Annual Intertribal Powwow at Port Royal October 10th and 11th

Clarksville, TN – The Native Cultural Circle (NCC) of Clarksville will be holding their 18th annual Intertribal Powwow on October 10th and 11th; the festivities begin around 9:00am on Saturday, and 10:00am on Sunday. The Grand Entry that officially opens each day begins around Noon. Come out and take part in a two day celebration of Native American Culture and traditions.

“Murder Ballad” begins limited run tonight at Roxy Regional Theatre

Clarksville, TN – Ready for a thrill? Look no further than theotherspace at the Roxy Regional Theatre. Their 50-seat black box theatre upstairs, where the explosive rock musical sensation “Murder Ballad” begins its limited run tonight at 7:00pm.
In this steamy and fun thriller with a razor’s edge, Alicia Jayne Kelly* stars as Sara, an uptown girl who seems to have it all, but whose downtown past lingers enticingly and dangerously in front of her.
“Murder Ballad” plays at the Roxy Regional Theatre on October 5th, 6th, 12th and 13th, at 7:00pm.
Dunbar Cave State Park Programs for October 9th through October 15th, 2015

Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.
Some of the upcoming events include: Evening Hike, Wildflower Walk, Kid’s Nature Hike, Beginning Birding, Little Ones Night Hike and Port Royal Hike.

Clarksville, TN – Last quarter, many investors watched closely as the Greek debt drama played out on a global stage. Three months later, investors once again are warily watching how international economic conditions impact domestic markets.
Headwinds include worries over slower growth in Europe and Asia; the effects of lower commodity prices; uncertainty over the Federal Reserve’s rate tightening policy and timing; suppressed inflation; and the potential for a U.S. government shutdown either at the beginning of October or during early December.

Northeast High School Girls Track to host evening with 3x Olympian Deedee Trotter

Clarksville, TN – The Northeast High School Lady Eagles Track Team will be hosting 3x Olympian, Deedee Trotter for a speaking engagement on Friday November 13th, 2015 at the school’s gymnasium starting at 6:00pm.
Ms. Trotter has participated in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympics. She has won 2 gold medals as a member of the 4x400m relay and a bronze medal in the 400m dash. She is currently training to make her 4th U.S. Olympic Team that will represent the country in Rio, Brazil in August 2016.

Clarksville, TN – The economic data were mixed, but consistent with the theme of global softness and domestic strength. Unit auto sales improved further in September – and, combined with the August data on personal income and spending, suggest that inflation-adjusted consumer spending (70% of GDP) is on track to have expanded at an annual pace of 3.5% to 4.0% in 3Q15.
The trade deficit in goods widened sharply in August, with that split evenly between stronger imports (despite lower oil prices) and weaker exports. Net exports and an inventory correction are expected to subtract significantly from 3Q15 GDP growth, but underlying domestic demand appears to have remained strong.

Acuff Circle to celebrate the arts at APSU with Soiree on Franklin November 6th

Clarksville, TN – The arts at Austin Peay State University will be on display and celebrated at the annual Soiree on Franklin on November 6th.
