Jobless claims fell more than expected (not too unusual), while the four-week average remained very low (about as low as it can go given the normal labor market frictions). Small business optimism fell in February. The Quarterly Services Survey pointed to an upward revision to the estimate of consumer spending growth for 4Q15.

The European Central Bank surprised the markets by doing much more than expected (lowering interest rates, expanding QE, and making other efforts to boost growth).

Dunbar Cave State Park - Clarksville TNClarksville, TNDunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.

Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs during the year. There are programs for children and adults.

Some of the upcoming events include: Man’s Use of Dunbar Cave, Nature Walk at Port Royal, Spring Hike, Early Spring Wildflower Hike, Port Royal History Walk, and Moonlight Walk.

NRA Program in Local Schools

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office - MCSOClarksville, TN – The National Rifle Association’s (NRA) gun safety program has taken flight in Clarksville-Montgomery County elementary schools.

Eddie Eagle, NRA’s gun safety mascot, made an appearance at Carmel Elementary School.

Famed French scholar and medieval literature expert to visit APSU April 4th

Clarksville Police Department to host Run for C.O.P.S. May 14th

Clarksville Police Department - CPDClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is hosting the Run for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) 5k Run/Walk in order to further positive relationships between members of the department and the community we serve.

All proceeds will be donated to the C.O.P.S. Foundation to benefit the families of law enforcement personnel killed in the line of duty.
