Clarksville, TN – These five topics cover distinct financial-management issues and caregiving plans. Ideally, you will have these conversations with your loved one and that person’s financial advisor in the mild decline stage of Alzheimer’s, or even before the diagnosis.
If the disease has progressed beyond this period, you—or the designated power of attorney—may need to have these discussions solely with the advisor. It is important for you and the advisor to understand the source and destination of your loved one’s finances so you can help when the individual may no longer be able to communicate his or her wishes.

Clarksville, TN – Fed Chair Janet Yellen said she was “cautiously optimistic” in her speech on the economy and monetary policy. She expects that further gradual increases in the federal funds target rate will be warranted, but she also stressed a number of near-term uncertainties.
This week, the mid-month economic data releases will be important, especially Tuesday’s retail sales figures, but the focus will be on the Fed.

City of Clarksville receives Award for Financial Reporting

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, June 16th, at 7:00pm, award-winning photographer Tyler Stableford will discuss multimedia and still photography at Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium.
The presentation, which is free and open to the public, is part of the University Photographers’ Association of America’s 2016 Annual Technical Symposium, hosted this year by APSU’s Office of Public Relations and Marketing from June 13th-17th.

Working the Spirit Close to Home at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center

Clarksville, TN – Through July 31st, the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is showcasing a rare exhibition of portraits by William Stamms Shackelford.
Brought together from various institutes and private collectors, the assortment of children, dogs, and patriarchs come to life against the dark hue of the Orgain Gallery. The portraits, some of which were done post-mortem, showcase the talent Shackelford had in bringing out the personality of the subject.

Clarksville Writers’ Conference Speakers Again Are Tops

Clarksville, TN – From comic book contributors to best-selling romance writers to illustrators and more, the writers at this year’s Clarksville Writers’ Conference, sponsored by the Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council, was again not only informative but full of essential hints that lead would-be-writers to success.
A heavy emphasis on self-publication was a new feature for conference goers. Many of the authors were either Clarksville or Middle Tennessee natives, including the keynote speaker Jim Squires or Crockett White, a Nashville native and author of West End among several other books.
