Clarksville, TN – Clarksvillians can buy Valentine’s gifts from local artists, sip champagne, sample heart-healthy chocolates along with more substantial appetizers, and enjoy chamber music by Cumberland Winds at the eighth annual Valentine’s Day Afternoon with the Arts, Sunday, February 12th.
The Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts & Heritage Development Council (AHDC) and F&M Bank are hosting this event from 1:00pm until 4:00pm in F&M Bank’s Franklin Room, with its spectacular views of downtown and the Cumberland River.

Kenwood High School to hold 3rd Annual Charity Basketball Game, January 27th

Clarksville, TN – On Friday, January 27th, Kenwood High School (KHS) will hold its 3rd annual charity basketball game. This year’s theme is “Waging War Against Cancer.” All money raised will be donated in memory of Josh Artis to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital to aide in the fight against childhood cancers.
The Student Government Association (SGA) at Kenwood High School consulted Josh’s family to choose the charity for this game.
Josh Artis was a well-known member of the local community who was committed to working with youth. Josh lost his own battle with cancer last year and Kenwood wished to continue his legacy of helping others.

Austin Peay State University students performed service work in New Orleans during winter break

Clarksville, TN – A group of Austin Peay State University students spent a week volunteering on Alternative Break Trips through the APSU Center for Service-Learning & Community Engagement at the end of the winter break.
Collectively, these students completed more than 200 hours of community service with several organizations in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Austin Peay Students worked with the New Orleans Audubon Nature Institute and volunteered with many of its branches, including the Audubon Zoo, the Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Center for Research of Endangered.
Clarksville Downtown Artists Co-op to hold 2017 Annual Juried Photo Expo February 2nd

Clarksville, TN – Downtown Artists Co-op (DAC) is proud to announce our 6th Annual Juried Photography Exhibition. The exhibit will feature many of the best amateur and professional photographers from the Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky region.
This photography exhibit features multiple categories and styles of photography. Entries range from modern digital photography, to traditional B&W film and alternative process photography. Subject matter includes landscape, nature, portrait and figure, still life and experimental.
Clarksville Realtors(R) Sold 11.9% More Homes in December 2016 than in December 2015

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Association of Realtors® (CAR) reports that 11.9% more homes were sold in December 2016 than in December 2015. In December there were 365 properties sold, while in November 2015, there were 324 properties sold.
For December, the average price of properties currently for sale was $204,650, which is 8.32% greater than the December 2014 average of just over $188,301.
Austin Peay State University to participate in Nashville Area Career Fair
