Clarksville Parks and Recreation offers Two Fall BCycle Tours

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s popular bike-sharing system, Clarksville BCycle, will host two fall bike tours that will provide riders a great way to discover Downtown.
Both tours will be led by William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance Interpretive Center & Civil War Park. Each participant will be provided a BCycle and a safety vest. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bicycle helmet.
War of 1812 Talk, Marker Dedication set for October 15th

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Arts and Heritage Development Council, in conjunction with Customs House Museum, is sponsoring an unveiling of a historic highway marker commemorating Clarksville’s role in the War of 1812.
The marker will be placed on Riverside Drive near the site where Middle Tennessee volunteer militia boarded flatboats for the long journey to fight with General Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans, the last conflict in the war.

On Wednesday, October 4th, 2017, Global Culture Nasu will return to Austin Peay’s Trahern Theater for its only public performance on an American college campus. The event is free and open to the public, with the performance beginning at 6:00pm.

APSU hosting ribbon-cutting ceremony for new Jenkins Building on October 6th

Clarksville, TN – Last February, the Austin Peay State University Office of University Advancement relocated to 318 College Street, marking the beginning of APSU’s expansion into downtown Clarksville.
At 2:00pm, on Friday, October 6th, 2017 the University will officially celebrate this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the campus’ new Jenkins Building, home of University Advancement. The ceremony will take place at 416 College Street.
