Clarksville Police Department’s 5k Run/Walk for C.O.P.S. a huge success

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department held a 5k Run/Walk to raise money for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) this past Saturday, May 13th, 2017. The event was held at the Clarksville Police Department Headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street. The entry fee was $25.00.
“The weather today was perfect. There are a lot of families here and around 200 participates,” said CPD Captain Scott Thornton.

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, May 14th, 2016, the Clarksville Police Department held a 5k Run/Walk to raise money for C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors). The event was held at the Clarksville Police Department Headquarters located at 135 Commerce Street. The entry fee was $25.00.
“Today we had a 5k community participation event. I wanted the community and the police department to meet up with each other and have a nice event on a beautiful day,” said CPD Captain Scott Thornton.
Citizen’s Police Academy class to begin March 17th, 2015

Clarksville, TN – Applications are available for the upcoming Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class. The class will start on March 17th, 2015 and end on June 2nd, 2015. The CPA covers all facets of the Clarksville Police Department’s activities, from administration to tactical operations.
Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about the Police Department functions, but also given a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises.
Clarksville Police Department now accepting Applications for Teen Citizen Police Academy

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will start taking application for the Teen Citizen Police Academy. It will be held July 22nd thru July 26th from 9:00am thru 3:00pm each day.
In the week long class, teenagers will see the many facets of city and county law enforcement operations.
Three Clarksville Police Officers Receive Lifesaving Award

Clarksville, TN – On November 18th, 2011, Officers Jeff Danault, Mark Wilson, and Nathan Lee were presented with The Lifesaving Award at a ceremony held at Police Headquarters. The Lifesaving Award is given to officers whose actions saved or extended the life of another person.
The Lifesaving Award was presented to the officers for their actions on September 3rd, 2011 when they responded to a shots fired call at 801 Providence Boulevard and found a man that had been hit by gunfire. He was bleeding from both legs due to gunshot wounds; the left leg was bleeding severely.

Applicants Sought for Citizen Police Academy

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department is taking applications for the next Citizen’s Police Academy (CPA) class which runs from September 20th – November 29th, 2011. Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
The CPA covers all facets of the Police Department’s activities from administration to tactical operations. Citizens are given an opportunity to not only learn about Police Department functions, but also afforded a chance to participate in activities such as: police vehicle operations, firearms instruction, self-defense techniques, and use of force decision-making exercises.
