Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s ‘Fun with Fido’ continues this Saturday with a Pooch Pool Party

Clarksville, TN – August has always been called the Dog Days of summer. What better way to help your pooch stay cool but to take a dip in the pool?
Clarksville Parks and Recreation is going to the dogs once again for the fifth annual Pooch Pool Party Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at Swan Lake Pool from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Last Concert of Summer Liberty Live Series August 7th

Clarksville, TN – The Liberty Live summer concert series returns for the final concert of the series at Liberty Park on Friday, August 7th! The last concert in the series will feature the alternative rock group, Darling Parade.
Admission is free but concessions will be available for purchase. The show is set to begin at 6:30pm at Liberty Park.
Registration deadline extended for Clarksville’s Wonder Kids Triathlon

Clarksville, TN – If you have haven’t registered your child for the 3rd Annual Wonder Kids Triathlon, there is still time! Clarksville Parks & Recreation has extended the registration deadline to July 27th, 2015. This event is open to boys and girls ages 3-12 years-old and will take place at New Providence Pool and surrounding area of 166 Cunningham Lane on Saturday, August 1st, 2015.
Just like in a traditional triathlon, the Wonder Kids Triathlon athletes will participate in three legs of the event: swimming, biking and running.

Registration Deadline Extended for the Second Annual Daddy Daughter Date Night

Clarksville, TN – Sail away for a night of fun at the Second Annual Daddy Daughter Date Night. Hosted by Clarksville Parks and Recreation, the event will be held Thursday, June 25th at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center from 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
Tickets are on sale now and include an evening filled with dinner, dancing, and dessert. Prizes and fun activities will be happening all night long.
TWRA’s Youth Fishing Rodeo a great time for kids and adults alike

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, June 6th the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) along with the Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department held the annual Youth Fishing Rodeo at Liberty Park. The event gives the youth of Clarksville an opportunity to enjoy a day of free fishing. This is the 14th year for the event.
“Saturday is free fishing day in the State of Tennessee. Here in Clarksville we team up with Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host a free fishing day event for youth 16 years of age and younger,” stated TWRA officer Jereme Odom.

There’s still time to register for Fort Defiance’s Civil War Summer Camp

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center is proud to host the City’s Civil War Summer Camp for history savvy youth. The Camp will be two, one-week sessions for boys and girls in the 5th and 6th grades this June.
“This is a wonderful opportunity for a student to learn about life during the Civil War and participate in activities relating to the period,” said William Parker, Historical Interpreter at Fort Defiance.
Clarksville Downtown Market begins this Saturday, May 16th

Clarksville, TN – When the 2015 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 16th, approximately 70 vendors will be on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and more.
The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 17th on Public Square.
