Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park to feature “Raiders of the Lost Ark” this Saturday, June 14th

Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City’s free, outdoor movie series, continues Saturday, June 14th, at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, Clarksville. ‘Raiders of the Lost Ark,’ rated PG, and brought to you by the Clarksville Area YMCA, will be shown at approximately 8:30pm (dependent on sunset).
“Raiders of the Lost Ark” is about archeologist Indiana Jones’ (played by Harrison Ford) adventure to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis do.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department offers Daddy-Daughter Date Night

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, June 19th, 2014 the City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will be offering a memorable evening for dad and daughter couples.
Dinner and dancing will take place at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center, 1190 Cumberland Drive, Clarksville, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm that evening. Each daughter will receive a corsage and a photographer will be on-site for photos.
Edith Pettus Park’s brand-new Splash Park is now open

Clarksville, TN – The brand new Splash Park at Edith Pettus Park, located at 345 Farris Drive, now welcomes visitors!
The Splash Park Grand Opening took place today, May 23rd at 1:00pm with neighborhood residents and city officials cutting the ribbon to officially open the park to the public.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Spring Family Campout has been rescheduled to a new date

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Spring Family Campout at Billy Dunlop Park has been rescheduled. The Family Campout, originally scheduled to be held Saturday, May 17th, through Sunday, May 18th, at the park located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road will now be held Saturday, June 21st through Sunday, June 22nd at the same location. Activities will remain the same and will include a bonfire, games, ghost stories and lots of fun! Family Campout will begin at 2:00pm Saturday and run through 9:00am the following morning.
Families who were originally registered for this event still have spots reserved. If this new date does not work with your family’s schedule, please contact the Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department at 645-7476 for a refund.
The Family Campout is $10.00 per person or $40.00 per family (up to 6 members) and will include an afternoon and evening of games and fun as well as a hot dog dinner and breakfast provided Sunday morning. Families will need to provide their own tent and sleeping materials. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation holds third annual Wettest Egg Hunt at Indoor Aquatic Center

Clarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center once again played host to one of the most popular Easter events in Clarksville, The Wettest Egg Hunts. On Saturday, April 12th, thousands of brightly colored eggs were put into the swimming and wading pools, to await the hundreds of children who would plunge in to seek out a variety of prizes.
Many of the eggs floated, but some were weighted causing them to sink to the bottom of the pool.
