Clarksville’s Indoor Aquatic Center is Hiring Lifeguards and Cashiers

Clarksville, TN – The Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, is now hiring for part-time lifeguards and cashiers.
To become a lifeguard, participants must be at least 15 years of age and able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes without the use of arms or hands and successfully complete a timed event within 1 minute and 40 seconds.
Clarksville’s Chocolate Affair set for February 8th, 2014

Clarksville, TN – City of Clarksville and Planters Bank are planning another Chocolate Affair at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center for February 8th, 2014.
The event will feature sweet and savory treats from both local businesses as well as some National brands like Dove, Lindt Truffles, and Velata. Entertainment will be provided.

Queen City Road Race Art Contest underway

Clarksville, TN – The Queen City Road Race Art Contest is underway for students in grades 1st through 5th. Two semi-finalists from each participating school will be selected and awarded an art kit and certificate.
Among those semi-finalists will be the top three finalists who will also win a Subway party for their art class. As well as those prizes, the first place winning artist will win a framed poster of their artwork, an official race t-shirt featuring their artwork and $100.00 for their art class.
Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to hold Christmas in Occupied Clarksville December 15th

Clarksville, TN – Come to the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center Sunday, December 15th, 2013 from 3:00pm to 6:00pm, to experience the holidays as soldiers and civilians did in the 1860s.
Visitors to the event will be able to step back in time and see period decorations, visit with a nineteenth century Santa, and enjoy eggnog, cakes and caroling.
Clarksville Christmas Tree lighting Ceremony

Clarksville, TN – On Saturday the City of Clarksville held the official lighting of the city’s Christmas tree on public square. Normally the lighting is held in conjunction with the city’s Christmas parade, however with inclement weather forcing the cancellation of the Christmas parade, that was not possible this year.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan officiated short ceremony before lighting the city’s tree Santa and Mrs. Claus.
