Month-long celebration highlights value of Parks and Recreation for local communities
Clarksville, TN – If you’re feeling cramped and like you don’t get to spend enough time outside, you’re not the only one.
Nearly three in 10 U.S. adults do not spend time outside on a daily basis and of those who do, almost half spend less than 30 minutes in the fresh air according to a new survey released by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) and conducted by Ipsos Public Affairs.

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville will celebrate our nation’s independence this year with the seventh annual Independence Day Celebration on Thursday, July 3rd, 2014 at Liberty Park.
The event is free and begins at 6:30pm. Seating is available throughout the park and the concerts will take place on the Great Lawn of the Wilma Rudolph Event Center.
Clarksville’s Kleeman Community Center to host 3rd Annual Money Management Fair July 12th, 2014

Clarksville, TN – The Kleeman Community Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will be hosting the 3rd Annual Money Management Fair on July 12th, 2014 from noon to 4:00pm.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation now taking registrations for Fall Adult Softball League

Parking along road yellow median no longer allowed at Clarksville Downtown Market

Clarksville, TN – Beginning this week at the Clarksville Downtown Market on Public Square we will no longer be allowing customers that come to the market to park along the yellow median on the road.
Signs will be posted stating to not park along that area and the police will begin ticketing individuals that park there.
This has become a safety concern over the past few weeks with a few incidences that have taken place.

Registration Deadline extended for the 2nd Annual Rally on the Cumberland Canoe and Kayak Race

The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has extended the registration deadline to July 8th for the Canoe and Kayak Race. The race will take place on July 12th at Liberty Park.

Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the City’s free, outdoor movie series, continues Saturday, June 28th, at Heritage Park, 1241 Peachers Mill Road, Clarksville. ‘Wizard of Oz,’ rated G, and brought to you by Realtor, Thryce Lindsey, will be shown at approximately 8:30pm (dependent on sunset).
The Wizard of Oz is about a girl named Dorothy Gale who is swept away by a tornado from her home in Kansas to a magical land. Dorothy and her dog Toto follow the yellow brick road and make friends along the way, as they head to the Emerald City to meet the Great Wizard in hopes that he can help return them home.
