Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hosts the next Cumberland Arts Experience at the Kleeman Center

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is offering another session of the new program, the Cumberland Arts Experience, at the Kleeman Community Center located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
The Cumberland Arts Experience will be held Saturday, May 25th and will teach basic painting skills as participants paint along with an instructor to create a piece of art they can take home with them. [Read more]

Clarksville Downtown Market to Open May 18th

Clarksville, TN – When the 2013 Clarksville Downtown Market opens on Saturday, May 18th, approximately 70 vendors will be on hand to offer local fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, milk, home décor, seasonal flowers and more. The Clarksville Downtown Market will be open from 8:00am to 1:00pm every Saturday through October 19th on Public Square.
Opening Day of the Market will also feature musical performances by Eric Compton & the APSU’s Community School of the Arts, cooking demonstration by Kristina Waters, Arts and Crafts for Kids by Cynthia Bellar and Chalk, Paper, Scissors, Market bags to the first 500 in attendance and prizes!

Clarksville Parks and Recreation reports restrooms at the King’s Run Bark Park temporarily closed

Clarksville, TN – The restrooms at the King’s Run Bark Park at Liberty Park will be temporarily closed due to mechanical repair. The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department hopes to reopen the restrooms by Monday, April 29th.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s “Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics” to kick off May 14th

Clarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until May 3rd for the 2013 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.
This year’s events will be held May 14th-18th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.

Movies in the Park 2013 season to kick off May 4th

Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park, the free outdoor movie series, will kick off its eighth season, Saturday, May 4th at the Heritage Park Soccer fields with the popular animated film, “Brave” – which is rated PG.
New this year to Movies in the Park- an added venue! The first half of the movie showings will take place at the Heritage Park Soccer fields with the second half taking place at the new outdoor amphitheater at Liberty Park.
Indoor Aquatic Center to host Special Needs Night

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is excited to host Special Needs Night at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, on Saturday, April 27th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
The event is open to children and adults with mental of physical disabilities and their families. Cost to attend is $1.00 per person, including family members who may not be swimming.
