Clarksville Parks and Recreation introduces Youth Flag Football with co-ed Clinics

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation will introduce a new Youth Flag Football League by hosting the first-ever Youth Flag Football Clinics this summer.
Two sessions will be held for boys and girls ages 5 to 17 at Northeast High School from 8:00am to noon, the first on June 15th and the second to be held July 13th. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation reports Liberty Park Pond closed June 3rd-10th

Clarksville, TN – In order to provide a fun experience for participants in the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) Youth Fishing Rodeo on Saturday, June 8th. We ask that the public refrain from using the pond at Liberty Park beginning at 6:00am on Monday, June 3rd through 2:00pm on Monday, June 10th.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Movies in the Park continues June 1st with Les Miserables

Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Saturday, June 1st, at Heritage Park soccer fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the hit movie, “Les Miserables,” which is rated PG-13.
Les Miserables takes place in 19th century France where Jean Valjean breaks parole and is hunted by policeman Javert. Later he agrees to take care of factory worker Fantine’s daughter, Cosette. That decision changes their lives forever.
Clarksville Parks and Recreation facilities observe Memorial Day Holiday

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Main Office, located at 102 Public Square will be closed Monday, May 27th for the Memorial Day holiday.
The Kleeman, Crow and Burt-Cobb Community Centers will also be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. [Read more]
Doggie Palooza to be held June 1st

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited for the upcoming 6th Annual Doggie Palooza. This free event will take place June 1st from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Heritage Park Bark Park.
Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to host Civil War Medical Display Saturday

Clarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a medical display Saturday, May 25th from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
The exhibit will feature presentations by Mark Britton and include a collection of medical items used during the 19th century to include necessary tools for blood-letting, various surgical procedures and preparation of period medicinal products.
Crow Community Center hosts a new session of Young Champions Cheerleading program

Clarksville, TN – The Crow Community Center, located at 211 Richview Road, is offering a new session of their Young Champions Cheerleading program for ages 4-15 years beginning June 3rd.
Young Champions is an affordable cheerleading program that emphasizes building self-esteem in youth. Classes aim to improve participants’ skills in cheernastics, motion technique, flexibility and stunting (for those ages 7 and older). [Read more]
Fort Defiance plans to “March to the Past” this Summer

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of Fort Defiance will host the “March to the Past” event on Saturday, June 8th from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, June 9th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm at the Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street.
