Parks and Recreation Trail Cleanup relocates for this Saturday

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The cleanup at the Upland Trail, located on Spring Street, on Saturday, scheduled for August 6th from 8:00am to 11:00am will now be taking place at Dixon Park.

“The Wizard of Oz” wins people’s choice movie

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – After months of collecting votes, Clarksville Parks and Recreation is excited to announce the final movie of the 2011 season and the people’s choice movie winner – “The Wizard of Oz”. The movie will be shown Saturday, October 8th.

This year’s season of Movies in the Park inaugurated a new People’s Choice night where the public nominated movies they wanted to see. After the nomination period was over, the voting began. The movie with the most votes won.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to host Pooch Pool Party

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – August has always been called the Dog Days of summer. What better way to help your pooch stay cool but to take a dip in the pool? Clarksville Parks and Recreation is going to the dogs on August 13th.

Patrons and their pups are invited to join in on the first-ever Pooch Pool Party from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Swan Lake Pool, located at 2002 Sanders Road. [Read more]

City Pools will be operating on special schedule this Friday

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces that all five City pools will open at 1:00pm on Friday, August 5th, which is a half-day for Clarksville-Montgomery County School students.

Bel-Aire, Swan Lake and Smith pools will end their Summer season at the close of business on Sunday, August 7th. Meanwhile, New Providence and Beachaven pools will remain open Friday through Sunday, each weekend until Labor Day. [Read more]

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – For free family fun, join Clarksville Parks and Recreation this Saturday, July 30th, at Heritage Park Soccer Fields for the Movies in the Park event for July, featuring the 2006 fantasy adventure-comedy film, “Night at the Museum,” which is rated PG.

All movies start at dusk – around 8:10pm this Saturday– with pre-show activities beginning an hour prior. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. As always, you are welcome to bring your picnic basket, but concessions will be available.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation to begin 45-and-Over Men’s Softball League

July 27, 2011

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Registration is under way for Clarksville Parks & Recreation’s first-ever 45-and-Over Men’s Softball League. Teams must register as a whole, rather than as individuals.

Final fees for the new league, which are based on number of games played, sanctioning fee, league fee and trophies, are due August 19th. All games will be played at Heritage Park Softball Complex.

New Providence Pool to reopen on Sunday

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has been temporarily closed due to a main water pipe rupture. Repairs have gone better than expected and the pool be will open back up tomorrow, Sunday, July 24th
