Clarksville’s Kleeman Community Center to host Latin American Cultural Festival

Clarksville, TN – The Kleeman Community Center will be hosting a Latin American Cultural Festival on Saturday, April 28th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm.
This festival, sponsored by the H.O.P.E. organization, is open to the entire Clarksville-Montgomery County community. [Read more]
Indoor Aquatic Center to host “Wettest Egg Hunts”

Clarksville, TN – New this year, the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, has partnered with Sango Pool & Spa and the YMCA to host two not-so-typical egg hunts.
On Saturday, March 31st, thousands of colored eggs will be floating or sunk in the center’s pools, each good for candy and prizes. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Downtown Clarksville Association businesses celebrate National Walk in a Park Day

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks & Recreation Department along with the Downtown Clarksville Association businesses will walk from the courtesy boat dock at McGregor Park to the North Extension and back, Friday, March 30th, 2012, in celebration of National Walk in a Park Day.

Easter Bunny visits the Clarksville Community Centers

Clarksville, TN – The Easter Bunny will be making appearances at each of our three community centers this Spring. Families are welcome to stop by between 5:00pm and 6:00pm to visit with the Easter Bunny and have their photos taken.

Clarksville 50+ Olympics to kick off May 8th

Clarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until April 30 for the 2012 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.
This year’s events will be held May 8th-12th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.
Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events. [Read more]
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces Women’s Health Fair

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces a Women’s Health Fair will be held on March 21st, 2012 from noon to 6:00pm at the Kleeman Community Center.
“I am very excited about this event. Women’s health specialists will be there to help women make their own health a priority. Studies show that women are often reluctant to take care of themselves because they make sure their family is healthy first. But, we also know that so many diseases that women face today, like heart disease, can be addressed if it’s caught early. This is an opportunity for women to learn how to take charge of their own health and make their families healthier, too,” Mayor McMillan said. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s awards second-annual Coach of the Year Award

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks & Recreation Department along with Legends Bank awarded the Legends Award – Coach of the Year Award to Clarksville High School wrestling coach, Jeff Jordan last night at the second-annual Legends Award Coaches’ Banquet held at William O. Beach Civic Hall in Veterans Plaza.

34th Annual Queen City Road Race registration underway

Clarksville, TN – It’s that time of year again to lace up those running shoes and begin preparing for the 34th Annual Queen City Road Race scheduled for Sunday, May 6th.
The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus.
Stroller Time fitness program gives parents and caretakers the opportunity to burn calories while bonding this Spring at the Clarksville Greenway

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will kick off the six-week fitness program, Stroller Time, Tuesday, April 10th at the Clarksville Greenway located at 1101 Pollard Road. Stroller Time provides an opportunity for mothers and children to socialize as well as exercise as they stroll down the Clarksville Greenway.
Stroller Time will consist of an hour-long instructional fitness class led by instructor Mikki Washburn. [Read more]
