Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department introduces new Hip Hop & Jazz dance program

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is introducing a new Hip Hop & Jazz dance program at the Crow Community Center, located at 211 Richview Road, for ages 5-16 years.
Hip Hop & Jazz will begin May 9th and will be divided into classes for 5-7 years, 8-11 years and 12-16 years. This introductory class, taught by Candace Caldwell, will introduce youth to the art of Jazz and Hip Hop dancing. [Read more]
34th Annual Queen City Road Race Early Bird Registration deadline is quickly approaching

Clarksville, TN – The Early Bird Deadline for the 34th Annual Queen City Road Race, scheduled for Sunday, May 6th, is quickly approaching! Those registering for the 5K race on or by April 20th will qualify for the $20.00 rate. Registration after April 20th will be $25.00 for the 5K.
The Queen City Road Race event is a Clarksville tradition promoting fitness and fun for all ages. The 5K race route takes runners through the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville, beginning and ending at Austin Peay State University’s Governors Stadium, while the One Mile Movement takes you on an exciting tour of a portion of the APSU campus. Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold Lifeguarding Course

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department will hold a Lifeguarding Course for participants seeking the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification at the Indoor Aquatic Center, located at 166 Cunningham Lane.
To enroll in this course, participants must be at least 15 years of age and able to swim 300 yards continuously, tread water for two minutes without the use of arms or hands and swim 20 yards and retrieve a ten-pound weight from 12 feet of water. [Read more]

The Aquatic Therapy Gym is a compact, multi-station, underwater therapy gym designed for aquatic rehabilitation. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is holding their annual Spring Eggstravanganza this Saturday, April 7th, 2012 at Heritage Park Baseball Fields. There will be games, face painting, inflatables, and a petting zoo.
