Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department to host 2nd Annual Pooch Pool Party

Clarksville, TN – The dog days of summer are quickly approaching, and for the second year in-a-row, Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department will host its annual Pooch Pool Party on August 11th, 2012, from 1:00pm to 4:00pm, at the Swan Lake Sports Complex pool, located at 2002 Sanders Road.
Billy Dunlop Park to Closed to the Public, July 26th

Clarksville, TN – Billy Dunlop Park, located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road, will be closed to the public Thursday, July 26th, 2012 for the Clarksville Police Department’s Teen Citizen Police Academy.
The park will reopen to the public at dawn on July 27th, 2012.

Zumba to start at the Burt-Cobb Center with the first month free

Local Hershey Track and Field Winner Daylon Brooks qualifies for National Competition

Clarksville, TN – After placing first in her event at the State Hershey Track and Field Competition on Saturday, July 7th in Nashville, one local competitor will be competing at the national level in Hershey, PA.

Acoustic Night at Jammin’ in the Alley

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville together with U.S. Bank will be Jammin’ in Strawberry Alley again on Friday, July 20th, 2012. Join us for this month’s free concert and “Night Market”, featuring more than a dozen vendors from Clarksville’s weekly Downtown Market. Vendors will be set up from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, and the concert will begin at 7:00pm.
Acoustic Night will feature performances by local artists, Michael Jacobs, Lydia Walker, Dustin Overbeek, Rebecca Forehand, and Freight Train. [Read more]
A League of Their Own plays Tonight at Movies in the Park

Clarksville, TN – Movies in the Park will be showing “A League of Their Own” at the Heritage Park Soccer fields tonight ! Movie will start at sunset around 8:15pm-8:30pm and we will be giving away prizes beforehand.
Make sure to bring plenty of water and bug spray! Remember this is a PG movie however it does contain strong language and sexual content.
Movies in the Park are FREE and open to the public.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan declares July as Parks and Recreation Month

Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, July 5th, 2012, Clarksville City Council passed a resolution recognizing July 2012 as Parks and Recreation Month. Residents are encouraged to get out and show how parks and recreation make their lives extraordinary.
