Exhibitors will be set up in Center Court and Dick’s Sporting Goods Court. The first 250 visitors at Center Court will receive a goody bag!

Bark in the Park, presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation, is a fun, family-oriented event that will feature contests, demonstrations, dog-related vendors and services, and dogs, lots of dogs.

Movies in the ParkClarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation Saturday, September 15th, 2012 at Heritage Park Soccer fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the popular new release, “The Hunger Games” – rated PG-13.

“The Hunger Games” is set in a future where the Capitol selects a boy and girl from the twelve districts to fight to the death on live television, Katniss Everdeen volunteers to take her younger sister’s place for the latest match. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.

Clarksville Downtown MarketClarksville, TN – Clarksville’s Downtown Market at Public Square has been voted #1 in the state of Tennessee and #19 in the nation for large markets, in the 2012 America’s Favorite Farmers Markets contest which is hosted each year by American Farmland Trust. This is the third year in a row the Clarksville Downtown Market has won first place in the state of Tennessee.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation’s Youth Basketball League registration is right around the corner

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Is your child interested in playing basketball this winter? Clarksville Parks & Recreation is proud to offer a Youth Basketball League for boys and girls ages 7 to 17.

The cost is $60.00 per player. Each player will receive a shirt, water bottle and award.

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is extending the deadline on the cash prize offered to volunteers helping with soft drink sales and the Adventure Zone children’s area, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee, on September 7th and 8th at McGregor Park.

Plastic Bottle Division New this Year

2012 Riverfest - 25thClarksville, TN – The Riverfest Regatta, sponsored by U.S. Bank, launches Saturday, September 8th, 2012 at 10:00am at McGregor Park Boat Ramp.

This year marks the 6th year for the annual Riverfest Regatta, where participants build their own boats using materials from a specified list, and race them on the Cumberland River. The heats are timed with the fastest time being declared the winner in the respective classes. The course is 100 yards long.

Check in for participants starts at 9:00am.

Fort Defiance Interpretive Center to host a living history weekend

Clarksville Parks and RecreationClarksville, TN – The Fort Defiance Interpretive Center, located at 120 Duncan Street, will host a living history weekend in remembrance of the Confederate recapture of Clarksville as well as the Battle of Riggins Hill, Saturday, September 15th from 10:00am to 5:00pm and Sunday, September 16th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.
