Clarksville Parks and Recreation announces “Art on the Park” contest winners

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is happy to announce the winners of this year’s “Art on the Park” contest.
The five finalists will receive their framed artwork and the opportunity to paint their design on various walls of the Heritage Park Skate park.

Friends of the Clarksville Blueway to host cleanup at Billy Dunlop Park

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and the Friends of the Blueway are hosting a cleanup at one of the City parks. Join the Friends on October 20th from 8:00am to 10:00am at Billy Dunlop Park, located at 1930 East Boy Scout Road.
Participants will be cleaning the West Fork Red River area of the park that is frequently used by canoes and kayaks. [Read more]

The Austin Peay State University chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity will be awarded the $500.00 cash prize for providing the largest group of volunteers for the 2012 Riverfest celebration held September 7th and 8th at McGregor Park. [Read more]
Clarksville Parks and Recreation hosting Trail Cleanup at the Clarksville Greenway October 13th

Clarksville, TN – Clarksvillians are encouraged to join in the beautification of one of the City’s favorite walking trails. The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a cleanup at The Clarksville Greenway, located at the Pollard Road Trailhead, on Saturday, October 13th from 8:00am to 10:00am.
Our trails need constant maintenance, but to make it more fun, we schedule volunteer maintenance days throughout the year to keep them in shape.
Clarksville’s Indoor Aquatic Center opens for the season with new Climbing Wall feature

Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department invites you to enjoy the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, this fall and winter! The Indoor Aquatic Center opens its doors for the Indoor Season on Monday, October 1st.
Enjoy a day of free admission, refreshments and free Wibit and Aqua Climb access on Opening Day from 7:00am to 12:00pm and 3:00pm until 8:00pm.
Wilma Rudolph Event Center seeks craft vendors for new event

Clarksville, TN – The Wilma Rudolph Event Center, located at Liberty Park, is currently seeking craft vendors to participate in a new event hosted by the facility.
The two-day event is scheduled to take place November 17th, 2012 from 10:00am to 6:00pm and November 18th, 2012 from noon to 5:00pm. [Read more]
