Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development To Hold Ground-breaking at The Vinings at Greencastle October 24th

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development in conjunction with The Vantage Group, LLC will hold a ground-breaking ceremony for The Vinings at Greencastle, an 80 unit apartment complex, on October 24th, 2012 at 10:00am.

The Vinings at Green Castle will be an affordable multi-family housing complex that is designed to accommodate residents 55+ years and up. The complex offers a number of amenities such as a community building, on site management and maintenance and will include an open floor plan and energy efficient appliances. [Read more]

Clarksville Homes being Rebuilt and Restored

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – On June 22nd, the Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development, along with Clarksville Mayor Pro Temp Geno Grubbs, were on hand when the homeowner of 50 Union Street was presented with keys to her new home.

Union Street lies within the Dog Hill Architectural District known for its late Victorian Architectural Style which consists of typical turn of century framed construction cottages. The district got its name because neighborhood canines would howl at the whistles of the nearby trains and steamboats. [Read more]

Home Repair Applications now being accepted by Housing and Community Development

City of ClarksvilleClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development is accepting applications for minor home repair for low- to moderate-income homeowners.

Various repairs and projects, primarily exterior renovation, are offered at no cost to qualifying homeowners. Projects range from roof repairs and painting to constructing handicap-accessible ramps and landscaping. Elderly and disabled homeowners are encouraged to apply.

“Good Neighbor” offers home repair assistance

housing-2Hundreds of volunteers will restore hope for local residents by providing free home repairs. The City of Clarksville Office of Housing and Community Development announced today that applications for the 2009 Good Neighbor Volunteer Home Repair Program are now available through March 31, 2009. This year’s program is expected to provide assistance to approximately 40 homeowners.  Eligible applications will be accepted on a first come first serve basis.

Many low-income homeowners who have lived in their home for years desperately need home repairs but are unable to afford the expense.  Having decent housing- the comfort of a sound livable home equates to peace of mind and helps revitalize neighborhoods. [Read more]
