Clarksville, TN – The Go Commando Half Marathon & 5k, powered by CDE Lightband, is back for a third year, bringing with it new activities and enhanced features. Runners will take to the streets of Historic Downtown Clarksville Saturday, October 19th, 2013.
But those interested in running are encouraged to register early online at www.gocommandoclarksville.com, as the event is only open to the first 2,000 participants.

Relay For Life Dinner Celebrates Strength and Courage, Prelude to Main Event

Clarksville, TN – On May 7th, more than 150 cancer survivors, caregivers, volunteers, supporters and friends gathered at the Hilldale Baptist Church Family Life Center at the Relay For Life 2nd Annual Survivors Dinner.
Introduced and organized by Bill and Joan Farmer, this year’s dinner was the best attendance (at the Survivor lunch and luncheon events) to date.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library to hold “Learning Matters” Workshop May 15th

Clarksville, TN – The Nonprofit Partnership Network and APSU’s Department of Public Management and Criminal Justice will co-host “What Every Employee and Board Member Should Know About Starting a Nonprofit and Staying Legal” on May 15th, 2013 from 1:00pm- 4:00pm at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library.
The free workshop will enable nonprofit leaders and board members to gain skills and knowledge about legal and practical considerations for nonprofit organizations (NPOs). [Read more]
APSU to kick off new GovTrails on March 27th

Clarksville, TN – A walking trail at Austin Peay State University is becoming a reality, thanks to a state grant awarded to the University to designate the trails on campus and organize other efforts to encourage a healthier lifestyle.
The public is invited to walk GovTrails during a kick-off celebration at 11:30am, Wednesday, March 27th in the Morgan University Center plaza. This event will be held rain or shine.

2011 Go Commando winner offers advice for Runners

Clarksville, TN – Nearly a year ago, Daniel Hazelton crossed the finishline at the Go Commando Half Marathon powered by CDE Lightband and became the first winner of this annual event. Now, Hazelton offers training tips and advice to all those who plan to Go Commando on October 20th, 2012.
A seasoned runner, Hazelton had already participated in countless other races prior to the Go Commando Half Marathon on October 15th, 2011. While training for the 2011 race, he was also preparing for the Army Ten-Miler in Washington, D.C. As part of the Fort Campbell Ten Mile Team, Hazelton and his team won first place in the Active Duty Mixed Division. [Read more]
