Clarksville 50+ Activity Center gets Clarksville-Montgomery Green Certification

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – It was all things GREEN on Friday at the Clarksville 50+ Activity Center. Employees, members and guests celebrated St. Patrick’s Day and a green ribbon cutting.

The ribbon cutting welcomed the Center as the newest Green Certified organization. City of Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, City of Clarksville Councilwoman Wanda Smith and City of Clarksville Councilmen Ron Erb and Travis Holleman attended the event along with Green Certification Board Members David Graham, Rose Melton, Gene Fish, Bill Harpel, Doug Jones and Haley Randell.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – James Corlew Chevrolet was honored with a green ribbon cutting on Friday, November 9th, 2018 as the newest member of the Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP).

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Green Certification Program (CMCGCP) held the second green ribbon cutting of the week on September 25th, 2018 to celebrate Heritage Bank’s completion of the Certification Program.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification Banquet set for September 20th

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green CertificationMontgomery County, TN – Tickets are on sale now for the 2018 Green Certification Banquet. Come enjoy a night dedicated to environmental stewardship and all things green. The banquet will be held Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at the Wilma Rudolph Event Center. Doors open at 5:30pm and the evening’s festivities will begin promptly at 6:00pm.

Sara Holloway Cox, Healthy Development Coordinator for the Tennessee Department of Health, will present “How Sustainability Impacts Personal and Community Health”. Attendees will also hear from Rebeckah Dopp, of ERS, who will discuss e-waste recycling in Middle Tennessee and Red Knight Distribution will show how Styrofoam is transformed into something totally new.

Clarksville Parks and Recreation DepartmentClarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department recently received a status of “Gold” from the Clarksville-Montgomery County (CMC) Green Certification Program for their efforts in creating a healthier, environment-friendly workplace.

The CMC Green Certification Program is designed to help governments and businesses learn and implement the best practices in environmental stewardship, in an effort to sustain the community’s resources through a series of free workshops taught by environmental and other subject area specialists.

To celebrate their success a green ribbon cutting was held Monday, January 22nd, 2018.

Clarksville-Montgomery County Recertification Refresher Class at Agero

Clarksville-Montgomery County Green Certification ProgramMontgomery County, TN – On Tuesday, June 20th, Agero hosted the Clarksville-Montgomery County’s Green Certification Program’s refresher class. Thirty-one attendees representing many of the organizations that originally certified in 2013 and 2015 participated in the class.

The class reviewed the latest environmental concerns in our community, discussed the impacts on the environment, and shared their ideas and continued improvements within their own organizations.
