Clarksville, TN – Clarksville City Saver officials presented a check on Saturday to the Clarksville/Montgomery County Education Foundation for $200,000 for their part in the recent system-wide coupon book fundraiser. This is the third year that City Saver and the Education Foundation have partnered on this project to help local schools.

Clarksville, TN – Yesterday morning Publix held the grand opening and ribbon cutting for their newest location, the store is the first of three Publix locations planned for our area. Shoppers started lining up outside the store with the first arriving around 3:00am, and the bulk starting to arrive around 5:00am for the 6:45am ribbon cutting.
The Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce conducted the ribbon cutting with Store Manager Norman Rubio Jr. doing the honors, with Montgomery County Mayor Carolyn Bowers and Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan holding the ribbon.
Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation to be Presented Bank of America Workforce Development Grant

Clarksville, TN – A $5,000 Bank of America grant will be awarded Friday to the Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation to support a program designed to give students a dose of financial reality. The check presentation will be at 2:00pm at Bank of America located at 215 Legion and Second streets.
The grant will fund the “Reality Check Program” offered to all CMCSS ninth-graders. Students will be given the opportunity to role-play as a 25-year-old providing sole or primary support of their household. Students will visit 14 stations where they make financial decisions for their household, while staying within a monthly budget. [Read more]
Legends Bank Recognized for Most School Supplies Collected

Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation President Terry Strange presents Legends Bank Vice President of Marketing Brittney Campbell with the top collector award in the Apples for Education Challenge.
Legends Bank branches and Cumberland Bank and Trust collected school supplies for the CMC Teachers Warehouse in July and August.
Legends collected $400.00 and more than 500 school supplies.
Apples for Education Campaign Brings in Supplies for Teachers and Students

Clarksville, TN – Two local banks and their branches participated in the Clarksville Montgomery County Education Foundation’s “Apples for Education,” a school supply drive and donation campaign to stock items for the teachers’ free supply store. The campaign began in late July and ended on Monday.
Legends Bank presented $400.00 and between 400 to 500 school supply items. Cumberland Bank & Trust donated $68.00 and around 100 items. [Read more]
